I've to apologize with Chris Redman about the incident. Mine was not an overtake attempt, but I totally missed the braking point. I'm really sorry about this, cause that move ruined both our races.
I hope you will forgive my mistake. Sorry again  Cry

Grats to Jeffrey, Maikel and Felix for the Championship podium.  Wink

Hope to see you for the first race of the Lotus 25 champ, with a bit more training than today. Bye chaps  Grin

B'ah not quite the last round I was hoping (and practising) for....scuppered by a flipping Win10 update just before I fired up AC  Roll Eyes
It fubared my steering/ffb  Angry  as soon as I tried to turn hard in a corner it would lose ffb or limply spit me off track like it couldn't handle the steering input  Huh Not had it in any practise sesh upto tonight so assuming it was the win10 update.  Undecided

Anyway, meant I was mostly 1 sec a lap down in race trim and I could only prevent the mishap by taking smooth wide steering into the corners. Any handsawwing or sharp turns caused the repeat problem. I hope a re-calibration solves it.

Surprisingly, despite that I still finished 5th or 6th !  Shocked after some good fun chasing Matteo, who was quicker but seemed to have as worn out tyres as I had for last 10 minutes.

Cant say I loved this series but still enjoyed each round in a way and quite enjoyed racing this car even though it does nothing for me automotively. The races were generally a bit too long for a sub-20 car grid sadly, but had generally a good fight early on in most rounds, and liked most of the track/car combos.  Smiley

well done to JR for organising and to those who won the series top 3 places.  thumbup1

Well done Team Shark for the team championship win and Jeffrey for winning the championship with one round to spare!

I've always hated Paul Ricard and my heart sinks everytime I see it on a race calendar. Usual zero practice, took my Monza setup and quickly added 2 clicks of gearing when I found myself bouncing off the limiter on the back straight. I was pleased to put it on the grid ahead of MarkJ despite qualifying on my race setup. Kiss Now I see he was having problems so I feel like a fool!  laugh

Race was going ok, but got bored in the first half with no one to race and nothing to drive me on, so I let Mark and Matteo catch up. Well that was a big mistake, because once I started to push in front of them to keep them behind I overcooked it into the double right hander corner after the fast sweeper at the end of the long straight and ended up spinning and toasting my tyres. This was possibly a blessing in disguise as I lost so much time I ended up behind MarkE and ChrisT so spent the rest of the race chasing them down and eventually overtaking them which was just enough to keep me ahead of MarkJ in the championship! Tongue

I have yet to try the Lotus 25, it's probably been 15 years since I race old F1 cars (from the GPL days of sim-racing), so this may be interesting. From recollection the braking distances are the biggest "challenge".

It must be a Team Shark thing, I don't grok Paul Ricard and hate racing here. I've got a gamy leg again so all in all my mind was not in the best place. I also found Maikel's setup too loose for me especially in the fast right at the end of the back straight. A spin and broken windscreen on lap 4 allowed an early exit  Embarrassed

Apart from one lucky race in the US these were all disastrous events for me. Sadly a tricky to drive Lotus 25 doesn't bode well for the next series either. Not tried it yet but I suspect the default setups are a bit lacking so if people want to share their work I'm sure I'm not the only one who might appreciate it Smiley

That is one close finish you 3 had  Shocked.

Biggest challenge for me is the downshifting. The thing only has 5 gears and because some long straights, the gearing is very long, so you have to be patient while downshifting if you don't want to end up going backwards.

I always thought PR was a loved track by pretty much everybody. All that blue around the track should attract Sharks  Wink.

I guess I'm one of the few who loves this track  Grin

Managed pole as I found out softs don't work and I was half a second quicker on the mediums. At the start I was paying too much attention to what was happening behind me and Ibwas making too many mistakes. Luckily the 3 behind me were having a close battle so after a few laps I got into my rythm and I drove off to victory.

Enjoyed these cars. Not sure how good the battles are gonna be in the lotus 25 as I found the 49 to be easier to drive. Too m7ch sudden oversteer when braking. Could be a setup fix though.
