I hope to make this evenings racing if there is a place for me. I connected my G25 up again yesterday. I have to sort out a problem with the brake lights flashing while not using them. The problem also shows up in the controller set up. I am hoping some electronics contact cleaner spray will fix it.
It's tomorrow evening but I'll put you down as a possible.

Not a very auspicious reintroduction to GTL for me. Short on practice recently I went online to check out the tracks and met Matt who gave me some good setups for the D & E type Jags.  Yesterday evening I was suffering a very upset tummy. Probably something to do with having four Christmas meals in six days. All those sprouts, Christmas puds and chocolate logs etc. plus some unusual beverages for me. I am on a diet of dry toast and water today.

For some reason when joining I kept losing my internet connection. About five times on the first track and a couple of time on the second. I was about halfway through the second race and struggling with a car not handling the way I was expecting when it occurred to me I had not re loaded the good setups after my lost connections. It had been one of those days, things usually go wrong in threes but this had been more like 3’s x 2. I didn’t feel up for race three although I had found the XJS the easiest to drive and knew the track.

Anyway tomorrow is a new year and a fresh start so I wish all A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Thanks to all those who organised and took part in these races.

I had been looking forward to these races as a fun evening after the excesses of Christmas and, just for once, I thought I had done some decent preparation.
Before I had always struggled with the D-type and that horrible gearbox where someone has stolen a ratio. In private practice I had squeezed my PB down to the low 1:17's and during the pre race stuff I managed a 1:16, so I was quite chuffed with that side of things.........but.... My actual race could have been better. I am still in awe of John W and Cap's lap times and how on earth they find those extra seconds when I am completely on a knife edge of adhesion and control !!
I managed to elbow my way past Geoffers early in the race to steal 3rd spot, which he made very clear that he wanted back as he chased me hard until he was harpooned by someone at the hairpin crossing the centre grass. I made the mistake of easing off, thinking that I would have a comfortable cushion when he had recovered, but it simply inspired Geoffers and he upped his pace it seems. Then I made an error at the end of the straight and spun the car 180, which was bad enough, but I also allowed the engine to stall ??!!  Undecided Undecided By the time I had gathered things together I had dropped way down the field, and basically pushed too hard to regain places.
A rather solid connection with the Armco did nothing to improve the handling and to cap it all as I entered the S/F straight on the last lap the engine coughed and died and I just coasted across the line in silence and frustration. blink
At least I felt that would be the most frustration that I would feel.........................

Quite enjoyed this one. Started out in the 2:24's and was seeing regular 2:19's come race day having finally found a set up which although a bit too stable meant I felt I was finally taming the D-Type. Although the run down to the hairpin was always an adventure. I Was actually reasonably close to the front 4 for a while until I missed my braking point at Scierie and took the car park route.

I was confused as I didn't realise Geoffers was playing away for these and when I was following him in a different colour car to my own I was a bit concerned I was driving the wrong car.

But overall if nothing else seeing the D-Type on the car roster doesn't fill me with quite the horror it once did.

Incredible pace by John_W Watching his car from the bonnet view I am in awe of how he got it around some of the corners he was accelerating while I was still trying to get mine stopped.

Thanks for organising Tony, Kurt for the results and a Happy New Year to all.

Sorry I couldn't be there guys, although it wouldn't have made much difference, with those insane NoGrip lap times.

Thanks everyone for the past year's racing, to Tony and all else involved in the planning, setup and running.  Happy New Year!! balloon balloon
