2017 Christmas Special

Grid/server capacity: 22

RACE THREE (The Seventies)

Track: Road America (not the '60's version) Download this

Cars allowed: Jaguar XJS Trans Am. (417kw/559HP) Download this and Download this
UKGTL Drivers will use Car #12, NoGrip Drivers will use Car #44.
All drivers will need to download and install from both links. This is to avoid loading problems on race night.

Practice:5 mins
Qualifying:10 mins
Race:14 laps

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: simracing.org.uk XMAS
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: None

Love this Jag  Grin Struggling to get the proper files though. I unzip the 44 car and that works fine
except my car has no skin, and is black. The 12 car unzips to teams and looks right, but it also unzips
itself to the top level GTL dir, and I don't get it in the car selection. AM I the only one
with an issue?

For the main car folder I extracted the folder GameData from the zip file to the GTL main folder (where the GameData folder sits) and it did the bizzo. For the skin I dragged the file from the zip file to the Jag XJS cars folder. Like I say all very standard.

10AU and 10BT are just additional skins I was testing. You do not need them.

I'll see if I can make a download for those having troubles, give me a mo.

Here is a download that just contains the two cars needed for this event plus their sound files.

Thanks Tony, that unzipped correctly. I still have black cars, these and a few more like the RS1600
and some other (but not all) add on cars. ANy idea what causes this? Are there any skin packs
I should have downloaded but might have missed?

Its a problem I had many moons ago, can't remember the exact cure, but seem to think it was something to do with DirectX settings. Try messing with those.

Got my controller sorted so I should be good to join in.

Anyone got a good setup for XJS they'd be kind enough to share?

Thanks.
