Moderator's Report

Summary
Just 1 reported incident.

Server replay time: 0h04m28s

Lap 2 - Scierie - Alessandro Isacchini and Tristan Bot
From the start both drivers are evenly matched with Tristan trying to find his way around Alessandro in his very quick Ferrari. On lap 1 (Replay Time: 0:02:18) whilst exiting Gresil, Alessandro maintains a tight inside line before drifting out to the outside to take up the normal racing line. Although Tristan had moved out first, he wasn't in a position to overtake so Alessandro didn't block a legitimate overtaking move and when Tristan switched to the inside line, Alessandro drove fairly on the approach to Sciere and didn't move to block. Onto Lap 2 with Tristan trying everything to get past. As they approach Scierie for the second time, neither driver wants to give the other any room. The battle to be the last of the late brakers results in Alessandro running wide but he keeps all four wheels on the tarmac and exits the corner under full power. Tristan manages to keep a tight line under braking and has gained several yards on Alessandro and they exit the corner with Tristan having achieved a 50% overlap. At this point the vagaries on on-line racing take over, and although there is a clear gap on the server replay, the GPL collision engine registers contact. Tristan is out of the race but Alessandro can continue.

Neither driver did anything wrong although it would have been prudent to pay each other a little more respect and to leave each other a little more room. Two evenly matched drivers should be able to race closely and exchange positions without contact provided the limitations imposed by on-line racing are acknowledged.

I've loaded the chassis the drivers used into the token calculator spreadsheet.  For the next race the available tokens will be as declared in the table below (the table will also appear in the next race announcement).  The calculated values are automated but selecting the cars is a manual process so please check your tokens to make sure I haven't made a silly error.  There was no token overspend for this round so no one is disqualified.

Available Tokens:
Note: These are the tokens available to each driver before the 10 tokens are added for making the race start.

Hope the server was OK tonight gents.  This was the first time I have ever set off a League Race from the UKGPL client.

Replay server is down.  If it is up tomorrow I will upload the server replay.

Hope the server was OK tonight gents...

Was fine after I could join. I joined almost immediately after you set it up, then went back to igor to let others know it was up and i could join.

And... then I couldn't  Shocked. Kept timing out despite having just joined  Huh. And kept timing out  Lips Sealed.

Last chance desperation full system reboot clean launch and I managed to join.

There does appear to be a lot of people experiencing difficulty connecting these days but I'm not sure why.  I've not changed the port forwarding on my router for years.

Last night in my rush to setup the server without IGOR I forgot to update the core.ini settings for bandwidth.  Instead of setting it to client 5/84 server 5/384  it was set to client 3/84 server 3/132  I realised imediately after I'd started the race but I decided to leave it because restarting the server without IGOR chat to explain what I was doing would have caused massive confusion.  Thankfully it looks like there were no lag or warp issues or was there?

Sounds ugly, Bas.  Get well soon, bud.

Phil...  Would you check my token count, svp?  By my math, I have 25 after RA.

Edit: Sorry.  Getting a little ahead of myself here.  Wrong thread.

Doni
If you want to check I've got it right, the spreadsheet I use is here.
I'm pretty sure the calculation aspects of the spreadsheet are OK.  If there is a problem its probably because I've selected the wrong chassis.  Happy for you to check and advise.  I'm trying to keep the spreadsheet up to date and correct but I'm not infallible.  A second, third or fourth pair of eyes can only be good  Wink
Cheers
Phil
