Maybe you can put solid tires?
Don't know how that is done, problem with that tho, when you are battling there is no escaping anymore. I fear with solid tyre barriers, we will not get many finishers .

Like the chicane at Goodwood, this is definitely very '60s. Jokes aside, putting solid tires, if one should make a mistake, he doesn't to hit against them is enough to avoid them going into the sand (and then returning to the track) losing the right time. The chance to hit the solid tires is only (except for unlucky cases) if the pilot tries to cut the chicane in "smart manner". With the risk to hit a solid thing, pilots 'll go in the chicane at the correct speed. Honestly i feel more uncomfortable in having to calculate how much i can cut into chicane, than have two big and good obstacles that delimit it. Probably i'll be the only one to think so ...

If I want a more strict anti cutting method, I'd rather go back to PLP as that gives some margin for error. These cars are very hard to drive accurate every lap and getting a bit more sideways is easy to achieve and hitting solid tyres is race over. And when you are leading a pack, it's just carnage. Honestly i feel more uncomfortable in having to calculate how much i can cut into chicane, than have two big and good obstacles that delimit it. Probably i'll be the only one to think so ...
Just treat the tyres as solid, then you don't need to calculate . I trust the group of drivers here not to abuse the lack of anti cutting methods. It has worked for the last few series, so I hope it stays all fair. Because we had this discussion well in advance, everybody should be aware of what is allowed and not and what the consequences will be. Accidental cutting is fine, just make sure you never gain anything by it.

I can quite easily use the dev apps to move the camera around and i can make a tally chart for everyone who cut that first chicane (based on Jefferys post) each lap..

How tricky are these apps to use in order to make new camera sets Chris? There are a bunch of tracks I'd love to make better cams for..

That would help. I also have dev apps enabled, so I'll need to look into that to have a fixed camera.

Press F7 and then you can pan the camera around with your mouse, arrow keys to move it, you have totally free reign over where you put it.

I dont know how to make cameras etc. Thats a little bit out of my league i think. The F7 camera, which you can only enable through dev apps is just a free roam camera but it does make it much easier to check stuff like the forst chicane here.

I'm not Garry Connoly, so I'm not a biased when it comes to moderating :p And there are no Ferraris on the grid that needs FIA 's help The penalty inflicted to Max is correct. The trouble is when during two days of practice, nobody said nothing about what is considered cut on Austin track, with cars going everywhere exceding track limits. F1 is becoming a farce. I could say the same about the FIA rule that limited the oil use, but not for the thermal engines omologated before Monza's race. Ferrari could have reacted before, like Mercedes, but changing a rule like this during a championship is simply not serious. The championship is changed by that race. However, I can say that after the overtake suffered by Kimi at the last lap, if I was the Team manager, I would have sacked him on the spot, regardless the penalty inflicted to Max.

I guess he needs to install the appropriate app? The penalty inflicted to Max is correct. The trouble is when during two days of practice, nobody said nothing about what is considered cut on Austin track, with cars going everywhere exceding track limits. F1 is becoming a farce.
Maybe they need the server-side app installed?
