My first timed lap without a cut warning is a 8:21, so only 14 seconds off pace so far   Tongue. Did hit the armco on my outlap, so no idea what toe I was running from that moment onwards  Grin.

With my current seating position, I can barely heal toe, as my right knee has to bend pretty much to the other knee, so I'm often shifting like a granny, from 5th straight into 2nd  Grin

So i expect you fast front group will be sub 8 mins with a few more laps. I don’t know the whole lap off by heart so never going to be able to push the whole time but know probably two-thirds of it quite well. You would need to do a lot of laps in this car here to really go for it but just will not have the time this close to Christmas  Cry

Does anyone object if I link the events to their pages so they can be clicked on in the

Don't know why anyone would object Smiley? How can I do that in the future myself?

Turn your speakers up, take the 33 to Imola and keep the revs above 5k. wub
Thank me later Grin

I'm guessing it's too rough to truly simulate under 3k as that's where the sound gets a bit iffy, but you really don't want the revs that low anyway.
Oh, and it's an absolute hoot to drive angel

Thanks for the early heads up. I noticed there were some minor content updates, although I'm not sure they would have effected tonight's event, but boss wasn't looking so I've updated the server anyway. Hopefully all will be good later.

Today was a strange day for me.
Like a teenager, I came on the server shy and hesitant. The first time at Nordschleife, first time in race online...
I had ever a fear of this track, also in GPL (but I admit that I was much more little), never learnt completly, too complex, too dangerous, too green...
In AC just touched it maybe 3 or 4 times; why need to learn a track with 77 corners when I have a lot of normal tracks?
But today I couldn't escape from my fears. I did 4 days of full immersion to learn the layout, and at last I did a clean lap. 8.28
Hum, could be a decent lap? I opened the Stracker, and looking the ChrisR laptime: I'm a hopeless noob!
But the 'ring is the 'Ring, so I decided anyway to partecipate, is the last race of the championship, and this legendary track need my respect. So I decide to face my fears.
I qualify in 7th position, wow, I say, not bad for me! Just only 20 second from the first!
Start! Luckly I mantained my position really close from... I don't remember, Mark? Anyway I started to enter in tunnel vision (really bad choice) and indeed I did a easy mistake: I did a "S" in 4th instead 3rd.
The german ARMCO in pure Krupp steel destroyed all two right side suspensions. And this at first lap.
Sadness and depression started to pervade my soul. But at last I tought "I decided to partecipate at ring, and I want to finish the race"
So I did all the race with the steering well on left, and at last lap I did an overtake too!
My maximium speed was around 231 km/H, 5th gear was really useless!
I finished the race 11th, at least, not bad for me Wink
Thank for the championship guys, was the my first online championship, and was really funny and an incredible experiece! I hope that this will follow to other historical champ, with other cars and tracks!
Merry Christmas to all, cya at Kyalami Wink

Didn’t go quite as I hoped but still good fun.
Foiled by a stupid cut warning in qualifying that wasted an 8 minute lap time for running mildly wide in one of a gazillion corners Roll Eyes  taz (we really didn’t need cut warnings here).
This was fundamental as meant I had no qually lap time on the board and was dumped behind cars running 10secs a lap slower  Sad
As usual first lap looked fantastic with a grid of these cars dicing away in the sweeping corners  Cool but also nerve wracking that several cars might touch..we didn’t  Smiley
As the grid shook out it was fitting I found myself behind my series long close rival in Chris T  we had a great slice and dice for a lap until I got past.
I built a lead and Then my first mis-gear shift of the night caused a spin in a silly easy corner and Chris was back on me again. So it took me another lap of harassing him to get by only for to have yet another mid-shift right at the end of the lap causing me to get all out of shape  Sad
After shaking my head I then cracked on with a clear road ahead and went instantly 13 secs faster  Shocked
But that was the last lap sadly. Shame as I think I could have harassed Jeff and maybe Maikel here without losing the 20+ secs trying to fight from the back.
Great to finally get a championship round here, let’s do it again  Smiley

Great series, really enjoyed it,well done and thanks for organising  thumbup1

Super race, loads of fun and really enjoyed it (apart from my 5 spins, but let's not mention that..). Been a fun series all round in fact, probably the most fun I've had in AC. Shame I had to miss a chunk of races. Thanks to Jeff and the admins; Happy Christmas all!
