Season 32 Historic Trophy – Round 3 - Road America

The third race in the Historic series takes us to Road America in the USA.  The track covers 640 acres (2.6 km2) within Wisconsin’s Kettle Moraine. It is near the Kettle Moraine Scenic Drive and has hosted races since September 1955. It currently hosts over 400 events a year. Road America has not been modified and retains its original configuration of 4.048 miles (6.515 km) in length and consisting of 14 turns. The track features many elevation changes, along with a long front stretch where speeds approaching 200 mph (320 km/h) may be reached. One of the best known features of this course is a demanding right hand turn known as "the kink." Road America's open seating allows spectators to venture throughout the grounds. Grandstands are available in several locations, as well as permanent hillside seating where crowds of more than 150,000 can be accommodated.

Driver lists and divisional rules can be found on the championship standings page

Only reported incidents will be moderated, there is no Red Zone.

Handicapping and chassis allocation.
This season the Historics will be using a token system which allows drivers to purchase any chassis of their choice, 2 litre or 3 litre, for a given number of tokens as published on the championship standings page. Drivers classed as Amateurs will be allocated an additional 10 tokens.  The token allocation will not be managed in SRou this season so (unlike the 67F1 Works and 67F1 Privateer divisions) the tokens available to each driver will not appear in the championship table (when the mouse pointer is hovered over the driver's total).  Rather, the available tokens will be published in the race announcement.  See below.

Available Tokens:
Note: These are the tokens available to each driver before the 10 tokens are added for making the race start.

Read the list of fastest times at the top of the post and ,  McLaren M2B....2:10 secs??!!??!!!?!??!?!  eek eek eek How did Greg achieve that sort of pace in the 66 McLaren???

Once my heart rate had returned to normal I looked again, and realised that it actually said M1B, one of the Can Am cars.

Phew!!! I can do without shocks like that at my age!! wheelchair scooter

Hmmm...  Any support for the notion to put this race back an hour such that today's running of the USGP from COTA will most likely be finished by post time?

I'll extend qualifying by 25 mins.  That will give everyone a chance to join after the COTA race is over.  Won't be much time to qualify but don't want to delay the race too long.

Since VCRs were a thing, I haven't watched a sporting event (that I cared about) live unless I was there in person.

The ability to hit pause to deal with the inevitable disturbance, toilet break, whatever, without missing any of the action, let alone rewinding to see exactly what happened, add so much to the experience. Of course, it means spending half my Sundays in a no-media-in-case-spoilers bubble until I get a chance to watch, but that's a negligible price to pay (no Jalopnik until after 8 pm? oh noooes) for sooo much gain.

If you're not there live and in person, it doesn't matter to you how delayed your viewing is (as long as you avoid the above-mentioned spoilers, ofc). The results will still be "news" in your universe.

But go ahead and re-arrange my schedule without asking and on little notice because you can't adapt to 40-year-old technical advancements.

Especially for a race where "Hamilton to win and take the championship" wouldn't even pay anywhere near to even money.

I've loaded the chassis the drivers used into the token calculator spreadsheet.  For the next race the available tokens will be as declared in the table below (the table will also appear in the next race announcement).  The calculated values are automated but selecting the cars is a manual process so please check your tokens to make sure I haven't made a silly error.  There was no token overspend for this round so no one is disqualified.

Available Tokens:
Note: These are the tokens available to each driver before the 10 tokens are added for making the race start.

Impossible for me to race...

Sorry to hear you're still having trouble.

Do you have any other racing games or sims that are also subject to engine problems? Do you grenade engines more than other people do in those? Not saying you do, just exploring possibilities.
