Pepe. have to ask.... What happened? We were coming up behind you and I was fully prepared to wait until the SF straight before making the pass as I couldn't see a way for Dave to get through unless I specifically let him. You seemed to have everything nicely in line then suddenly veered off into the Armco, It certainly made me jump.
I shouldn't even have taken the grid for this race, not having had anything close to the amount of practice I need for every track. But I looked at this place with pure contempt: How hard can this be, with two long straights connected by two simple corners? And the track quickly responded, equally contemptuously, by reminding me that at 180 mph things go from simple to very, very hard in a matter of milliseconds.
I'd never gone off line approaching the end of the back straight at all in what little practice I did have, but blew it completely on about L6, smashing into the armco and shearing off a wheel. I reset, did the S&G, and promptly repeated the same damned stunt as you and the other leaders were catching me. It's not only embarrassing, it's demoralizing. I'll try not to look so massively incompetent next time, but I always say that.
