I have early copy of AC but all cars understeer and I can't see how to change most of the suspension or final drive settings. I suspect it needs a major update before it's ready to use or am I missing something fundamental? GTL and RRE are much more intuitive to setup.

An early copy of AC? I imagine you need to do a lot of updating!

Yes 2015/16 but I looked and couldn't see a way to update it. How can I do this?

That doesnt make sense, its only available on steam which will keep it updated. You sure its AC?

Assetto Corsa, I agree with you not making sense and should be automatically updated by Steam in the same way as RRE; hence my question. It loads then says Theme Loaded (think that is the correct wording). I’ll have another look over Christmas Period but I if cannot I’ll give AC a miss.

Bill try this, from within Steam right click the game and select properties, then local files tab and you'll then find a button called Verify Integrity Of Local Files. Click that and let it verify everything is present and correct.

Game ran worse here after the 64bit patch. If you are running an nvidia card with nvidia inspector you'll need to add the 64bit exe to your nvidia inspector profile for settings to take affect.

Also windows has been handing out updates recently which want to update your card drivers. I use a GTX770 which doesn't like new drivers so had to revert to my old ones.

Game runs fine now and looks good.

Had some more time with the new pork and the Cayman is definitely worth checking out....an absolute gem of a sim car! I've entered a boxing day event with it at RD which should be fun.

I have an older driver version that I keep as it works best for GTL
I don't use Nvidia Inspector, perhaps I should.
My other machine looks as normal since the 64 bit update
and that's a slower CPU, similar card, maybe a slightly better one
this is a GTX 760

Thanks Pete (apologise for wrong name).  Done what you suggested and my files are OK, noticed that the Automatic Updates is selected but it is obviously not happening.
Looked at updates and it shows a download of over 25 GB - would exceed my monthly download limit. In looking at downloads it shows cost reductions by specific dates and involve a number of new cars.
It looks as if an update would be both time consuming and involve payments.  As I wrote in an earlier post I don’t want to incur more costs at my time of life, I don’t expect many more years of online racing so I will stick with my RRE and GTL, hopefully with minimum new purchases.  Thanks to all people who have advised me on AC.

Any clues for tracks/cars we'll be using next season? My lad is getting back into simracing and wants to pick up some tracks before the sale ends on Jan 4th.

May as well get all of them!

I guess Matt doesnt plan that far ahead?

Ive tried a few laps in the Porsche cup car, hmm.. thats going to be a tough car to drive, limited setup, soft suspension with little damping makes keeping it smooth a prioirty or the mass out the back takes over!

Was intending a series wit the new porches, they seemed a good drive, but after a few tests they seemed
more like the old RSR to drive, and as mentioned very little setup options, they need at least more coast diff

Can give it a whirl, people traditionally seem to like Porsche series? NSU is a fun series, though not everyone's cup of tea.
any other thoughts? Can do the above easily, could try a few test races if that meets wit approval?
Could do a few short series with different cars.
