Thanks Tony. The AC Ace, AH100S and 250TR all work online OK but noticed that I  had omitted to download the Merc 300SL.  Shocked Hit with a wet fish My Norton AV will not let me install the file, it has advised me that it is a Threat - WS Reputation.1  Huh It also records only 5 downloads from this Link. Is that all who are going to race in this Series? Any suggestions Please?
There are so far 10 downloads from the link. Please put Norton in your nearest dustbin. It is complete CARP. I hope you don't pay for it.

I have gone online with the Merc 300SLR with no probs. You need to tell me if there are other cars that do not appear (or use another car) online.

Check you have the original GTL Mercedes installed in your Fifties Endurance GTL Install.

I have used Kaspersky Internet Security (a proper anti-virus software) to scan the download file and it reports it to be clean and free from any nasties.

Disagree with regards to Norton; have been using it for years and very happy about it.  Norton of course can't know how many have downloaded that particular file in total; they only know how many Norton users have done so.  I get that same warning on most of the tracks/cars I download, and simply verify that the reason for the warning is the 5 users or less, and then select the option to run it anyway.

Yes Erling that's what I usually get also but in this case when I select the option to run it anyway it runs it but then removes the file with the warning I recorded in my earlier post.

I am unable to see how to get around this problem unfortunately and can not download the LM55 300 SL from the given link.

Yes Tony I have the original GTL Merc 300SL but can't use it as it shows up when I try and use it online as "Car Not Installed" I don't know if the lack of car will cause a problem when other drivers are on line.  Assuming it doesn't then I will only be able to race the Gullwing Merc and all the other cars. I can live with that if when I used up all the cars I can drive a couple of them again.  (Hope that makes sense.)

Can you not temporarily disable Norton? Then download the file.

I asked about the original Merc as most LM55 cars require it to be installed. I thought this may be part of your problem. You will not see it online as it is not required for racing.

If you try and join an online race and you do not have the Merc Gullwing installed you will definately have a problem.

If it's the LM55 300SL, I have that file downloaded from earlier, and Norton reports no problem when scanning it.  Can send it to you Bill, if that might solve the problem.

I did go through the download procedure for the Mercs and I too had to override Windows Defender which thought that these files were dangerous.
I noticed that the Gullwing comes in its own "gamedata" folder and that it wants to put this particular car in the GTC65 group? So I allowed it to do its thing. Is this correct Tony, or should it go in the LM55 group and could this be why some members are not seeing the gullwing option?

I have not had a chance to actually test out the installs yet, to see if all the cars are actually OK. I have most of the car files already there in my monster GTL installation, so if there are issues I would only expect them with the new Mercs.  Wink

That is the correct location. This car isn't really part of the LM55 car set.  thumbup1

Tony I now have the 300 SL LM55 cars installed and working online, the only remaining problem is I can't drive the 300 SLR which I can live with!

All working fine her - tested the 57 D-Type, the small Maserati and all versions of the Mercedes online
(the Gullwing is a smooth but slow drive - best 2:06.2 so far) and the DBR1 offline.

Miraculously the fastest and the only car under 2:00 for me is the 57 D-Type  Huh

And the second miracle is: I'm testing on two separate GTL installations at the moment, my regular UKGTL online install
using G25 shift pedals (I destroyed two G25 shifters a long time ago) and a "testing" installation trying
my new Thrustmaster TH8A shifter (H-pattern). I found out that with the latter I'm nearly 2 seconds faster (D-Type)
than using the pedals  Roll Eyes.

Thinking about using the TH8A on Monday as an experiment.

Online with Matt and Bill an hour ago.
Went to the pits and wanted to come back on track but couldn't as it looks like Bill was blocking  Huh
Then killed and restarted the game but couldn't rejoin due to the same reason.
No idea whether it was my install or a problem on Bill's side.
Bill, which car did you drive?

Still faster by using the Thrustmaster shifter in the D-Type, only a slight difference in the Gullwing (new pb 2:05.9)

 Cool

Hello everyone, tomorrow begins a new season, the third for me here in UKGTL and I take this opportunity to wish everyone to have many beautiful fights and fun and secondly to get many beautiful podiums, but for this we must be faster than Geoffers , Erling and Clive, means that someone will have to extract some rabbit from their cylinder, in my case some turkish rabbits (rare products), however what matters is to enjoy the privilege of having a steering wheel in your hands.

I want to thank Tony for having accepted my proposal to create a whole series dedicated to the Abarth "Coppa Mille" (Geoffers you are a magician with these small cars and I'm sure you will entertain us all). Why Abarth? In Italy and abroad, Abarth is a tradition that means preparing small cars like the Fiat 600 and the Fiat 850 in order to make them real racing cars on all tracks, without neglecting the Simca Abarth 1150 ss.

Thanks to Tony for having created a new system for the allocation of points, as you all know, all the races in the program is almost prohibitive and in the past it happened that due to illness, holidays or problems with the Server or AV someone lost the opportunity to fight until the last race for the victory or the podium in the various championships, well this season thanks to Tony we will not have this handicapp anymore, this will allow you to have exciting and uncertain championships until the end, and maybe with some surprise winner.

I take the time to apologize to Erling for the episode that occurred between me and him at Thermalito, in the future I will be more careful even I am a human (it is already a lot for me that someone considers me a driver, I am just an amateur with so many things to learn from you, I can barely hold a steering wheel in my hands) and I can make some mistakes.

In the end I apologize to Tony for all the times I broke his balls with my PM full of protests and dirty words in 2017, I will try to avoid this in 2018, thanks for the patience Tony.
With Erling and me in the Xmass event UKGTL would have lost the challenge with NGR, but for me it is an honor to be part of this wonderful group of people who are here in UKGTL, even if I am full of flaws and imperfect (no reference to my arm), who knows maybe it is the time that really to a donkey like me the wings snack ............................ Roll Eyes

I know that what I wrote is off topic, but I was different time without writing a post and this is my first post of 2018, however, I apologize to everyone for this, thanks and best wishes !!
