Car restrictions: The most popular model used at this event will be dropped from the list of cars available for future races. If two or more models tie for most popular, then the highest finishing model will be dropped. The final race of the series will be "free choice" and all car models will be available.

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: 2x
Pit stops: Required

Server: simracing.org WEDNESDAY
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: None.

I found myself with some free time last evening, and control of the TV was in the hands of another  Roll Eyes. So I thought I would do a few laps on the server to check the connection and to re -acquaint myself with this tricky circuit.  I did notice Dan's name pop up and vanish again with a "car not present on server" message, and was expecting him to re-appear for some practice competition. I remembered this track from the previous series and how I struggled behind Erling in his D type, when I felt that the car I had should have been easily quicker??

I was running the Healey, more concerned with finding my way around the track than setting any fast times. I like a car that has a snappy turn in to corners, and yet I could not coax that Healey to offer any workable  front end grip. I spent a good few minutes adjusting the setup to try and gain the elusive turn in that I wanted, but I just could not make any real improvement. I think that the dodgy handling was costing at least 3 secs a lap as I had struggled to get the beast into the corners at anything other than crawling pace.
I might have another go before Wednesday's race, or choose another car if I can't solve this handling problem.

If I remember Clive, I will upload my Healey setup to the online folders later & you can give it a try. Getting times that are quite competitive with those from the last time we raced here, which is unusual because I am normally well off the pace at this track, have never got the hang of going quick around it.

May miss this one as I have my second dental appointment for Root Canal Treatment Wednesday afternoon and don’t think I’ll fancy a long race. I will see how it goes. Hope all enjoy their race.  Smiley

I had to look at the race results from a couple of seasons ago, to understand Ziu's comment.....................I did not realise I had the FL in the 250 TR!!  But, of course, that car is unavailable for this race!!  Undecided Just typical of my luck lol
