Just realised this race might involve slick tyres and  pitstops??!!! scared scared scared scared scared

Plus I still have not found time to even test this car/track/mod yet. Maybe I had better organise my timetable to change that Huh  Undecided Undecided

As these cars are something entirely new to me in GTL, are there any setups around to use as a starting point?

Maybe the default ones they come with...  whistling

Track will never be a favorite of mine.  Oval sections fairly boring, while I can get no natural sense of flow through the infield - either brake way too early for most corners, or brake into the corners, which mostly results in lots of opposite lock in desperate attempts to catch the rear when it comes flying..  Undecided

The news is that the problem not was my g27 but the USB plug where was connected my g27 so i can return to use paddles. Now with a delicate touch i can change gears, rather i dont need more to touch with my fingers, now i can do It with telepathia

Had a brief try of the 917 last night, OMG, did 2 laps & only managed to negotiate 2 corners without spinning it! Shocked

Some serious setup work needed to make it driveable methinks. Why do modders release cars with completely undriveable default setups!  Huh

I've taken it round Targa Florio with only minor changes to the setup - maybe it's yer driving...  whistling  (Did reduce the power diff a fair bit..)

Must be my rubbish driving Erling, could not prevent the rear trying to overtake the front on corner entry. Never could drive Porsches, horrible things. Its a well known fact that Lotus owners hate Porkers. laugh

Had another practice last night & made the car much better although I am still well off the AIs best laptimes (1.47 compared to 1.42!). I think the main problem was the brake bias, with the brake bias on default the car was ploughing straight on with the brakes on, so I was putting more steering lock on to make the car turn, then when I let the brakes off the front would grip & turn in too sharply flicking the back around. So moving the brake bias more to the rear coupled with some geometry changes made it much more controllable.

I have a 2010 Evora Erling, had it just over 2 years, love it.

Very nice car - please post some pics  Smiley  Don't think I've ever seen one in the flesh - it's a rare bird here no doubt. (11 Lotus for sale currently on our most popular car sales site, and none are Evoras)

Could be I should try your setup tips, although I mostly move brake bias forward when a car swaps ends under braking; presumably because it locks the rear wheels when weight shifts forwards.
