Grats Erling for championship
Thanks Ziu
Do love this track - the hill cresting fast curves, where the car drifts or even jumps sideways are just a hoot
Also finally a chance to drive the best sounding car in GTL (from inside).
Surprised to be 2nd on grid, but Ziu & Dan positively catapulted off the line, both getting in front. Dan gentlemanly waved me through later on L1. Up front Geoffers was in a different league, but I gradually reeled in Ziu. We had some great dicing over a couple of laps; I even got in front, only to lose it again a few corners later, when I locked the brakes and slid into the concrete hay bales. Broke my headlights, but fortunately didn't affect the handling.
Set off after Ziu again, but just as I was closing, he went for an early stop. That left me a clear track and I could focus on getting some fast laps, hoping to emerge in front of him after my own stop. Seeing Geoffers in the pits around lap 8 gave me hope he would change tyres. Stopped myself at the end of lap 10, for fuel only, but was passed by Geoffers who clearly didn't change tyres. Did emerge ahead of Ziu though, although with his disconnect later, it didn't really matter.
Couldn't catch Geoffers obviously. Lost time in traffic, but not the fault of those I lapped; thanks all for helping me past, I just misinterpreted people's intentions at times.
Grats to Geoffers on a commanding win, and Dan for bringing the AC on the podium
Commiserations to Ziu and everyone else who suffered problems.
