I had to do much the same Huggy, I had an ethernet cable to a wifi repeater in the same room, then that connected
to a wifi extender on the floor below, and that connected to the router a floor below that...
as long as no one was using catch up on sky (yes it was a sky broadband!) it worked fairly well
and no one ever complained. The latency was 20 msec or so extra, but as long as it remained stable
there wasn't any bother. As commented, it doesn't take much to upset it though.

Yes misnoimis, it was good fun unfortunately for me I had 1 click too little of fuel! Roll Eyes As a result of my hard driving, my engine was misfiring as I entered the last long corner and I couldn't accelerate fully around it allowing you to out accelerate to the finishing line.  Cry

Hard luck Bill, you would have held your place then. I thought you were driving well. I always tend to put too much fuel in to be safe.  Wink

Thanks for the additional tips re. connections phspok and Bob, all useful stuff. Sorry a flaky connection caused some woe for others last night. Sadly,  WiFi is the only way I can connect my PC, as the main phone line and therefore the router are two floors down, I'd need a very long Ethernet cable and a big drill Smiley   I can probably persuade Mrs. H to leave any browsing or reading her tablet and just watch TV during the duration of a race, however, with any luck. And considerable diplomacy.  Grin
Have you considered using that system that plugs into the 3pin power socket. Sorry I do not know it's tech name but someone here will.

Powerline? It's what I used once in my example. it sort of worked, but if the spin dryer (or even the hair dryer)
ever started up it spiked, and dropped the conn. It's not good if each of the floors ring main go back to the board
in the garage for example (as mine did) so the lengths between floors was huge - top floor to garage
then back out to the middle floor, then back to the garage, then out to the ground floor
Worked ok between sockets on the same floor, but not between floors (in my case)
I ended up with
PC - ethernet cable - wifi powerline adapter floor3 - powerline wifi floor 2 - wifi repeater floor 1 - wifi router on ground floor

Was not a great solution, was the only time I suffered dropped conns in GTL

1) I think I owe an apology to Ziu for baulking him on his quali lap Embarrassed I do try and keep out of the way of cars that are on a hot laps in any race, but I must have been asleep ?

Race 1) was a struggle with the Anglebox, just could not find the sweet spot
Race 2) was better, with the Minge, I got an almost perfect start with a front wheel drive car and for the first time actually felt that I had a front wheel drive car that worked. After working my way past Erling and Fulvio I was On Ziu's tail and hoping to find an opening. On such a short track it was tough and when he appeared to go into Druids a little wide I thought that there might be room for a small Mini around the inside. But Ziu was taking a late apex and the gap that was there disappeared. I clipped the rear of his Anglia and we both span out...Sorry again Ziu  Undecided I allowed Ziu to get in front and followed him for the rest of the race.
Race 3) I thought that the Imp was the best car for me but made a complete mess of my race ending up almost at the back of the field. Too many mistakes and too little skill.
Great format for this series, and some close exciting racing...thanks Tony.

You need to baulk a little better next time - he still got pole in all 3 races...  Grin

Race one in the Anglebox was fun, but spent the last half trying to get past an unreasonably slow
Anglia.  Tongue
Missed Race 2 because I kept CTD when loading Fulvio, maybe his lack of skins, maybe mine, not sure
Race 3 was fun, but threw it onto the grass end of Lap 1, then had some fun trying to make up places

Don't worry Clive, I got Pole also with you in front to me, also if not could do track record on qualy, I think that I lost 1,5 seconds.

About race accident, for me it s ok, when an accident born so I think that's race accident, you wanted win the race as me you tried and happened this but if I was on your sit I tried on the same way because you are like me on the track and I think like Geoffers also. For sure someone not is agree (I know who cannot be agree) but not possible avoid some contact, if you didn't try what sense could have our race ? Ok we lost podium but we earn a battle. Run it mean push and we did this is important. Clive I was ready to do all to not loose our battle also if it was for the last place. When I drive I never put my ass on my sit to warmth it, if one day will happen that I will finish to drive.
I hope that you after the accident no stopped to attack me, if you did I would be pissed too much

I have discovered that your plain brown envelope was intercepted by Arnold, which he then wisely invested at the Octagon Bar in the paddock. But, anyway Ziu gave me more money to provide a tow in quali.  Wink so  Tongue
