Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 5161s

Matteo goes for an overtake on Thomas in turn 1. Matteo's front wheel makes contact with Thomas' rear wheel which sends Matteo into a spin.

Thomas could have given more room but there was still a bit of room on the inside for Matteo and there wasn't a proper overlap to really claim the spot.

A racing incident for me where both drivers could have done something to avoid it.

  • Thomas Wieseladvice — Give a bit more room when there is a car on the inside

Server replay time: 5373s

Matteo goes for another overtake on Thomas into turn 1. Infront of Thomas' car is another car about to be lapped. The lapped car brakes earlier and that causes Thomas to move to the inside, where Matteo is at that point.
The cars brush eachother but that causes Matteo's car to bounce to the curb and back into Thomas' car.

Overtaking with lapped traffic ahead is extra risky and the contact was only minor but AC's collision model made it worst than it really was for me.

Well, I found 1 excuse for my lack of pace...I suck at H-pattern  Tongue. When I switched to paddles I was 0,6 faster and a whole lot more consistent  Lips Sealed. Not going to switch tho, unless I get another lonely and boring race.

H shifter tip for the 962: Use clutch only for upshifts. For downshifts just blip the throttle while changing gears  Wink

That works? I always get something flashing when I don't clutch enough Tongue

You need to practice to synch it correctly. I seldom get transmission damage by doing so.

Thanks, I'll give it a try. I'm in the Marlboro car anyway, so it's used to smoking.

Well that was rubbish. people in front were being very cautious, so I followed, then someone behind
got ambitious and caused a pile up and put me into the fence with big damage, Went to pits
and waited and waited, came out a lap down, then was lapped so was trying to pull off to retire
out of the way, when I lost it on the grass and spun back onto the track in the leaders way  taz taz taz taz taz
Sorry if I caused any serious issues. Shame my pace was not bad today.

Well that was disappointingly short. Was stoked for the race as the pace was pretty even up front and with a pretty big grid. Right at T1 I saw one car in front wobble lightly so I though to sneak up on the outside of T2 and see if I can't get into his inside for T3. Went a little bit wide but as soon as I hit the grass I just understeered into the wall at a pretty low angle so I probably should've bounced abit against it but as soon as I hit it the car just completely stopped like I hit a brick wall straight on.. ( haven't saved the replay so it could be I just didn't see it all that well ). Sorry for however got caught up behind me, I think it was Massimo.
Car was completely wrecked from there on so no use continuing.

Such a bummer  Cry

Well good to be back but far too many errors. I think I burnt my clutch out, could select gears but no drive, had to teleport back to pits, but only lost one place. Sorry Stefan I thought I gave you enough room, well that's what helicorsa indicated.

Well I survived my first VR race  Smiley and got a decent 7th place finish too behind the usual alien front group.

Had some great racing along the way too and was nice to keep up with the front boys for a change  Smiley

The big grid of group C looked fantastic at race start and whilst racing closely Cool
Survived a couple of ‘days of thunder’ moments early on and kept tabs on 5th and 6th ahead for the whole race. Had a good few laps battling fmg until he dropped back (damage?)
Got a bit worried near race end when there was one more lap than I expected but just had enough fuel ..phew.

Racing with VR was superb, you lean into corners and look over to apex’s like your in a real car  Cool my eyes were really strained by race end though, quite painful so I’ll have to reduce my time with it on race night. Had goggle marks on my hot face like Sterling moss  Grin

Congrats to fast Felix and the podium  I Am Not Worthy
