that was me in the Porsche that disappeared. Long story short, I dropped my keyboard and accidentally esc. back to the pits. Started from the pits, thought that I should drive through the field to get back to my qualifying position on the warm up lap but then thought - no I'd better start from the back, so dropped back. Sorry for the confusion.

Enjoyed that one, despite "incidents"
Qualed better than usual, the Lambo is much more friendly than most of the other cars for me
never driven it before, feels similar to the 911, but seems a bit more forgiving.

Went off after the bridge early on trying too hard, then got wrapped up in someone else's spin, and
took a little damage, and lost more time, and probably places, but was fun dicing with a few people.
Found I was slowly catching Postal in the 1st half up to the pits, but then after the pits, when I somehow
came out just ahead (possibly because of a spin) and could hold the gap for a while
then started losing ground rapidly despite doing PBs  Shocked did you swap to softs? or figure how to drive the car?

Well, the 650 is a nice drive, however it has some nasty habits when on the edge.. I thought i had a decent setup coocked up, but online it needed some more tweaking to make it behave.

After the hectics of the first laps it was a matter of getting in clean laps and stop the soft tires from over heating. This was a bit of a gamble with having to change tires and refuel. Made things more complicated by spinning in the last corner just before i had to pit.
That meant i had lost quite a bit of time with my pit stop and when i reentered the track i saw Matt flying by in his green Lambo.

Got more of a rhythm and flow of the track in the second half of the race. Combined with better tyre temps I was able to slowly reel Matt in again. I could see he was upping his pace too, as i was
setting Pb's and just gaining a tiny bit each lap. Finally with a lap or three to go i was in striking distance. But Matt defended well and altough I could gain in the corners my 650 was no match for the power of the Lambo on the straights.
It was a beautiful dice and kuddos to Matt. I hope we can do it all again at the next outing.

Great to see many pilots on the grid yesterday evening!

... and even greater for me to get the pole in the qualy, a very very rare event for me!

Unfortunately I couldn't manage to make all the race without mistakes so I lost 2 positions in the first one and other two in the second mistake, always in the same turn (after  the bridge) ... probably avoiding them I could stay in the fight for the first place till the end of the race, even if my pace in the second stint was not so good.

Finally I was very lucky to get the podium due to Flavus and FMG involuntary retirement ...

Congrats to Jeffrey and nfsw55! their pace in the second stint was still very good and definitely deserved the first 2 places! clap

PS: I'm also very pleased that my ping keeps stable around 60, while in the Okayama test race it was higher than 130...

Did you go in 1 lap too early? I went in as soon as possible and I think you were already gone behind me at that time?

I went in when I ran out of fuel - for some reason despite my race setup having been saved as a full tank I only had 76 litres in at the start.
When you then remove the 2 minutes wait from the start of the race on the replay, this suggests I pitted about 20 seconds too soon (I noticed the pit window message in my head lining during the pitstop).
As I've never been on a server with a pit window programmed in I didn't even know it was a thing, technically I was still within the limits as posted here though which is annoying - glad I'm out of contention due to missing the start of the series anyway.
But given my brakes strategy in the race I doubt I'd have been guaranteed to see the message anyway - Anyone who watches the Australian Touring car series will be familiar with SVG's alterations 'on the fly'.
Last night I was varying my brake bias by about 8-10% across the lap, I think the maximum number of turns without adjustment were the final 2 at the end of the lap. As a result the system message at the top of the screen was mostly displaying Brake bias for the entire lap Grin

Probably explains my ability to dive bomb people from quite far back in the hairpins Wink

My race was semi ruined by the pitstop anyway - as I happened much sooner than intended I had to alter my settings for the stop. As I was using my rift this took some effort and I accidentally set hard tires.
I think I came out in about 5th (I'd over-shot and had to reverse into position Embarrassed ) and was unlikely to climb more than 1 place higher by the end of the lap.

Great racing again guys.
Qualified in P2 and was able to follow Alfrance for the first 15 or 20 minutes. I found a good rythm and the gaps to P1 and P3 remained mostly equal during this stage. After Alfrance went slightly off, I was promoted to first with Jeff not far behind me.
I decided to pit two laps before the pit window closed, but overshot my pitbox due to never practised the pit entry on this track before Cheesy
I feared that I lost P1, but in fact the gap increased by one or two seconds.
Luckily this remained my only mistake this evening and I was able to hold Jeff behind me, who closed the gap to me in the final stage of the race

Btw: I really like those british tracks. I've never driven Oulton Park or Snetterton before, but both are surely on my list of favourite tracks now (which isn't the case for Rockingham tho Grin)

And a technical question: Does anybody know what the "AC lap timing bug" is (at Stracker). I'ts listed under "Penalties" here: http://stracker.simracing.org.uk:50041/sessiondetails?sessionid=2316#
Mostly very low numbers, but Postal for example lost 3 seconds... Huh
