I'll have to restart the server - that ok? Reduce practice accordingly I assume?

That was a great race.

The starts with these things can already mix things up, not a simple case of full throttle and go. Gained a place from Maikel as he bogged down a bit at the start, but Matteo took full use of his medium tyres and got into first.
We had a constant train of 4 cars going, all withing 2-3 second the whole time.

At some point Matteo goes wide and Felix and I move up. I couldn't find a way past Felix and I had Matteo breathing down my neck. Later on Felix went off and I got the lead, but 5 minutes before the end I got distracted by somebody's name label under the bridge as I approached 130R that I steered in too fast and clipped the grass a bit, sending me full speed into the barrier. My whole car was wrecked and I was surprised it would still drive with full red frontal and rear damage.
Had to push that wreck of a car to prevent me from losing another position to FMG.

Great race, but a bit miffed about my error while in the lead  Tongue.

Sorry for the mess up with the ballast, it was copy pasted over from the last 599 race, so thanks Pete for the quick fix  Smiley

Phew, what a race indeed.

I knew starts were tricky in these things so luckily I spent the last minute of quali practicing them. So when the lights went off I immediately release the clutch and drop down to 4th  Cry
Very difficult to overtake here so I spent most of the time trying to find a way past Matteo's impregnable defense  Grin
After about 20 minutes of trying to take different lines and failed attempts and finally manage to get a much better exit out of the last chicane and pas him at T1. Finally  Tongue
A lap later Jeffrey had his mistake and I'm back to first, not quite how I envisioned the race to go and I was pretty bumped out after that start, but happy to win the race nonetheless. Luckily the race itself was great. And Matteo, I hate to say I told you so, but I told you so that the mediums wouldn't last 40 minutes  Cool

Now I’ve calmed down  Roll Eyes it was a great combo of car and track  Smiley

Had a disaster qually after late tweaks made the car unstable under braking so was only 9th.

Got a good start at the lights and chased Alex and Fmg for 15 minutes of good high speed fun. I was enjoying the spectacle of tasty race Maseratis dicing up close. But following Alexey closely through turn 1-2 was always tricky with deft touches of brake required with measured downshifts. He finally did a bit of a crazy Ivan under braking and I had to hit my anchors harder than you can get away with there, so I was spat off onto the run off into a spin  Cry
I lost 11 secs and then as I began to close on them again I got a stupid spin off a kerb on the exit of the middle chicane  Sad that dropped me 17 secs behind the front pack but the guys behind were so far back I still had 17 secs gap to them after my spin !  Tongue
So last 15 mins were just solo hotlapping but consoled myself with a solid 7th place points finish...or so I thought until BT let me down again  Roll Eyes...grrr

Yeah, Mark. According my setup, these 1,2 turns was most difficult place in track, so i prefer to be not so fast and risky,  but safe and not to loose whole race here.  BTW usually i am not drop the pace here in  approaching to 3rd turn result Wink Every lap you saw it and can correct your tech, being behind me . No Ivan's here but anyway, sorry for that  Smiley   See in 3m 11s in my short vid below.
Congratulation to Maikel for win in so dramatic race for guys in front! It was true drama for podium. Watched replay and was amazed .
Thanks to FMG and Mark for the race. Car is very cool, but tires ))) I was maked only one small mistake in race and FMG passed me  Smiley

Short onboard vid. First lap  was like in very first time space station flying in vacuum  Grin

And Matteo, I hate to say I told you so, but I told you so that the mediums wouldn't last 40 minutes  Cool

You won't believe me, but when the server was shutted down for the last restart I went on offline to complete the stint but decided that 18 laps were enough Smiley. Yeah, the rear tyres were completely gone watching at the app, but IMO still drivable, and I decided to risk because I had no chance to match your pace with hards after I tried it. However the only way to see the checkered flag with meds with my almost default setup was that of setting the rear wing to 10. During every straight I was a bit slower and the chances of an attack were only a few and with a high rate of risk. At the spoon I've lost the 100 mts mark risking to brutalize Jeffrey's car for example. Grin Grin

The reality is that I've lost any chance of victory with my first mistake. Starting by the second position my strategy has revealed good but I pushed too hard making some small mistakes from time to time during the first laps and the last one was really a stupid one and costed me the lead. I shouldn't have pushed like this because it wasn't necessary in that moment.
Ironically I started to drive better when I was focused on attacking Jeffrey or defending by you, but my pace with free track should have been a lot better in the first 10 laps or so, especially if the followers started to fight each other.

In any case this race is one for my personal book of the online racing. It's always a pleasure and a great honour to race against people like you  Wink

Grats again to Maikel, Felix and Jeffrey for the great fun.
