Really enjoyed myself at this one.

Was disappointed to find myself in the Yellow Mazza as everyone knows the brakes on that one are a lot worse then the red one.  Grin

Qualified in 4th behind Paul S, FMG and Bastian, Got a good start maintained position and as the race unfolded both Tim and Paul were caught out by the brakes at Tarzanbocht and Bastian was through until he put a wheel on the grass and attempted to launch the Merc into low earth orbit Re Entry landed him right in the middle of Panoramabocht and I had to breath in to slip past on the inside. Although in quite exalted company I actually managed to keep the front 2 in sight and even reached the heady heights of 2nd at 1 point when Paul took another look at the shrubbery.

But by around Lap 10 I was starting to struggle as they moved it all up a gear. Meanwhile Roman was closing fast from behind and we had a great battle for 6 or 7 laps, with him passing me into Tarzan and me returning the favour a few laps later. But by lap 20 he was back through and made the pass stick. There was no doubt I was the slowest of the font runners by this stage and I did try to stay with him but he was about 3s ahead by the flag. Meanwhile I was watching the gap back to a hard charging Bastian and knew that even a small off would put me deep in the mire.

Fortunately I managed to keep him about 5s behind at the flag.

Thanks all for organising. It was great.  thumbup1

Phil and Clive, I had the same problem. I joined in the last seconds and forgot to run an extra program I use to get my GPU into 3d mode. GPL 36fps is such a small load on most GPUs now that they can often stay in desktop (2D) mode. With my AMD Radeon GPU, I use an extra program called ClockBlocker. With Nvidia GPUs I think you need to make sure that "prefer maximum performance" is set in the Nvidia software.

I noticed lately that Furmark, a good GPU stress test program, will get my GTX into 3D mode without actually running the stress test. Just having the program open gets my GTX 1050ti into 3D mode.

I just checked. Furmark doesn't get my Radeon to go into 3D mode unless I actually run the stress test.

Greg is right,
- another idea is to not set "disable intel speed step" in GEM+ ,
I tested with i5 and it gets hot running allways full throttle!

Super event!!!!!
Long time not been here (shame on me)

Super event!!
Thanks all involved, hope we can do this more often.

With the (slower) Ferrari 625 My UK-Competter was Jethro.
8 laps before the finish I see him being (easely) lapped by his fellow UK drivers I hunted.
I thought he would let me by on the straight, but he ignored the blue flags. (hé, it's compettition Wink )

In the breaking zone I lost the rear and bounce into him, losing 2 or 3 places Sad sorry for that!

Never the less, It was great Fun!
Big driver field, competitive committed drivers and horky 55's Wink

Thanks admins!
And thanks for making me smile reading some comment's!

Cu next time.

Great event!
after all, 25 drivers from 10 nations at the start!
THX to our admins Billy, Stefan and all others who made it possible.

My races was great
After a new pB, surprisingly pole with the Connaught and a bad start I had a close fight with Charles and Tristan for more then 22 laps …
That hotlaping exhausted me and a fault in the Tarzan was the end of my victory hopes.
Against Tristan there was no realistic chance anyway.
Charles made a mistake in the Scheivlag and gave me P2 back.
BIG FUN - the Connaught went very well on this track.

TOTAL RESULT after race time  maybe interessant:

Chaps,

I have done a quick tally of the results. Using the scoring system;
GRID A - GPLRacer won 103 points to 88 points
GRID B - GPLR Racer won by 90 points to 80
Equal number of drivers scoring on each grid, ignoring the late entries from UKGPL who did not register to participate.
There were additional points for finishing within one lap of the leader, but GPL Racer scored even better there.

I will need to check the Mechanical reports to confirm the Stop & Go rules were complied with, but I think we can safely declare GPL Racer the winner.

Congratulations to Paul & Trsitan for winning the individual heats.

Many thanks to all those who took part. Special thanks to Stefan for his considerable assisantance organising the whole event.

We will try & do this again sometime.

Many thanks to BillyNB and Stefan.

It was a great event.

Perhaps with more warning the field could be bigger still?

Really, really enjoyed this one. Qualified 8th of 12 and gained a few places with spins and then spent the first half of the race with 3 GPL Racers right on my gearbox. 2 made passes after some very close and clean racing and I gave a place away to Loynes Jr when I almost got a tank slapper.

Spent the rest of the race chasing him but the gap stayed pretty constant as did the gap behind to a recovering Anders.

Pretty happy with the 7th place apart from the mistake that cost a place.

Great fun and well worth the pain of organising it. The 55s do seem to present good racing throughout the grid.

Then he, Anders Ostlund, stood in my way for the complete Lap. At Hugenholtzbocht the Scandinavian Troll drifted to the outside, so I went inside. But he came sideways and I shot him away.  Grin Towards the End of the Race I was gaining to the fourth spot, but there were not enough laps left.  dots

So you think it was Anders fault and not yours?  Huh
A really strange point for view, but we had that already when you raced with GPLRACER.  Roll Eyes

If you wouldn`t have hit Anders at the beginning we three could have had a nice fight and you might even have finished in front of me.
After you and Anders where gone and Evil had his freeze I had a very lonely and boring race.
At the end I was not pushing at all anymore. I just drove it home to get the team points.

After all this good racing...

My  2pence:
I have driven with all these GPLRACER drivers on 60fps servers!
So I do not understand why we had to fall back to 36fps?
I had tested it and had problems, so I did not join...

Maybe the next time Wink
