I think that any decent racing league will operate this rule.

I read that as applying to qualification/race sessions of UKGPL league races,  not necessarily non-event practice sessions.
But maybe there are better times/methods of having a full-blown conversation anyway?   
However, I guess respect the others on the server where possible.  And that should not be a 1-way thing either.

Agreed Dave.  Perhaps some confusion somewhere because GPL Practice is actually Qualifying?

Well said Dave. However to me you can chat in non-official quali/race sessions. Also ppl can turn off their in-car chat while driving (I do). But for some, logging in/out and chatting will cause hick-ups or stuttering, and there might come in some frustration. Not sure if it's a graphics card issue, or rasterizer.

I've raced in both UKGPL and GPLRACER and both are great leagues with good ppl.

Sorry to all for my Sean's dismal performance.  

No chance for practice last few days, missed that race was starting earlier so no chance to even get set-up work done. Every lap was "ok, brake even earlier for T1 this time" and still end up in the kitty litter, so got frustrated and quit before mucking with the leaders lapping me.

And I had a few encounters (Fran, maybe?) in that short frame. Don't think I was terribly guilty (maybe a bit aggressive) in either, but sorry anyways.

See ya in cars with actual freaking brakes sometime.

I will apologise for my PC as it refuses to admit that either it, or Win 10, is guilty.

Running 4th and quite happy....a few graphic stutters and.......................SCREEN FREEZE and complete computer lock!!!!!!

Yes ,you was my biggest problem in this race.After this i have had smoke from engine and one freeze in curve luckely without big consequence.Anyway i was able to finish.

I had quite a bad framerate during that race. No idea why, the PC has been rock solid on 60fps? Anyway I was driving well as Doni's wing man when I had a silly lapse in concentration and spun off loosing two places to GPL Racer.  Sorry guys, hope it didn't loose us the race

Thanks for organising the race and  posting the results etc Bill, Phil and Stefan, despite my PC/Windows 10 issues I really enjoyed this challenge and I hope that we can do more of them. 

Interesting that you noticed frame rate issues Phil, because my new PC which is rock solid on 60 fps (even with a full grid of GT's or CAn Ams) was dipping into the 20's whenever I pulled myself close to the leading trio. I found that sitting about a second or so back improved things, but still did not give me a steady 36fps??? 
Very strange, as I would have thought that at 36fps the frame rate would be absolutely stable. I was actually thinking that it was my rig and that something was working in the background to interrupt my graphics and that was what caused the eventual crash.

But now that I hear others were having frame rate issues, I have to look at what actually caused the freeze at  21:22.52secs........yes I spent some time looking at the logs to see what the heck was going on after I re booted. Did not find any obvious culprits, just confirmation that the PC shutdown unexpectedly, thanks Win 10 for telling me something that I had already worked out for myself

Sorry to hear that you are still having issues me old mate.  My system is living on borrowed time and I dare not change anything in GEM in case it all falls over again.  Last night was Simon's first race without sound card issues too.

I was leading A Grid when i touched the grass end of tunnel ost and jumped over the right dune, flipped several times and came to a hald middle of panorama bucht.

I was recovering from 10th to 5th, then i would have needed some more laps to figth john and roman
