Cars allowed: 2017 WTCC

Time of Day Setting: 13:00

Server: Simracing.org.uk WTCC
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see
cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules especially the
rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Race Room Racing Experience from Steam, and have the relevant Track Packs for this series
(4) Please exercise caution when pitting as some tracks have a speed limit.

(5) Please follow the SROUK guidelines for using kerbs etc. Please keep 2 wheels on the track surface (kerbs do not count as track surface)
Excessive cutting of corners will seen as cheating and the results may be altered to reflect this.

[/quote]
(6) Start procedure
*It will be the pole sitter's responsibility to complete the first lap at a pace that allows the rest of the grid to follow comfortably
*There should be no overtaking or hard accelerating/braking
*Drivers should avoid getting too far behind or too close to the driver in front
*Approximately 20 seconds before crossing the start line the pole sitter should slow down to a speed of no more than 50mph (80km/h)
*Each following driver shall close up directly behind the driver in front also maintaining a speed of no more than 50mph (80km/h)
*The pole sitter should maintain that speed until they cross the start line and then accelerate away to start the race (lap2)
*Each following driver should only accelerate when the driver directly ahead does (they do not have to wait until crossing the start line)
*No overtaking is allowed before crossing the start line at the completion of the formation lap

Back to RRE this weekend with some front wheel drive action with a test race for the forthcoming 2017WTCC Series. Brands Hatch Indy, so people should be able to get up to speed without too much practice

First hurdle out the way, actually buying a car. I assume having bought older series WTCC cars they are cheaper, but wasnt expecting 4 out of the 5 cars to be £0.25 each.

Never got on with FWD, the extreme oversteer off thottle and understeer on-throttle isnt natural for me, but running a few laps at the test track helped. Just need to relearn how to drive!

The practice server is up and running for tomorrow nights race. Better start getting your heads around front wheel drive handling characteristics!

bit of a small grid, but Brands Indy is a good little track to get a feel for front wheel drive. Hopefully we will get a few more people on the grid for the series proper. Well done Spanner on the win, after getting pole I thought I was in with a chance but I started drifting back and when I tried pushing I made a couple of costly errors. On to Suzuka in a fortnight for the first round of the series!

Rolling start!!! Sorry! Just assumed we following what real TC series do and a standing start. Was in half mind to type something after you mentioned it at start of second race.

Hmm. Still not a big fan, they can be a bit inconsistent in their behavior. Default is too easy to lock up so found 54% a good balance on the brakes

At the end of the first race i had the front left go yellow, and both go yellow for the second.
