Moderator's Report

Summary
Just 1 reported incident.

Server replay time: 0h02m25s

Lap 1 - Woodcote - David Rainier and Dean Logan
Dean has a great exit from Abbey and pulls alongside David down the Farm Straight. As David starts to turn into Woodcote (replay time 0h02m23s) Dean has 100% overlap. Dean keeps very close to the inside kerb but David drifts in slightly and contact is made. Both drivers are out of the race.

Dean did nothing wrong.

David moved over to take up the racing line. There are two scenarios that could be applied here. Simple Ambitious Overtake (The overtaking car HAD achieved a 100% or greater overlap at the point of turn-in. There was no loss of control by either driver). Simple Side by Side contact (In a corner, after a legitimate overtaking attempt the cars end up side by side. One driver moves over instead of staying on their own side of the track. Contact is made). In both cases the responsibility for the incident falls on David and in either case the penalty is the same.

Season 32 Historic Trophy – Round 10 - Silverstone

The final round of the championship will be held at the circuit which hosted the very first race in the F1 world drivers championship. Silverstone is built on the site of a World War II bomber base, RAF Silverstone, which opened in 1943. The track hosted the first F1 championship race in 1950. The British Grand Prix has been permanently held here since 1987. The airfield's three runways, in classic WWII triangle format, lie within the outline of the present track. The first two races were held on the runways themselves, with the 1949 International Trophy switching to the perimeter track. This arrangement was used for the 1950 and 1951 Grands Prix. In 1952 the start line was moved from the Farm Straight to the present Finish Straight, and this layout remained largely unaltered for the following 35 years. Since 1975 the track has been modified with the introduction of chicanes etc – we will be using the 1960’s layout.

Driver lists and divisional rules can be found on the championship standings page

Only reported incidents will be moderated, there is no Red Zone.

Handicapping and chassis allocation.
This season the Historics will be using a token system which allows drivers to purchase any chassis of their choice, 2 litre or 3 litre, for a given number of tokens as published on the championship standings page. Drivers classed as Amateurs will be allocated an additional 10 tokens.  The token allocation will not be managed in SRou this season so (unlike the 67F1 Works and 67F1 Privateer divisions) the tokens available to each driver will not appear in the championship table (when the mouse pointer is hovered over the driver's total).  Rather, the available tokens will be published in the race announcement.  See below.

Available Tokens:
Note: These are the tokens available to each driver before the 10 tokens are added for making the race start.

My main goal was to finish the race but I couldn't even finish the first lap.

On the last turn before the starting line, I had an accident with a Ferrari (Dean ?).
Sorry if I was responsible of it, I didn't see any car in my mirrors.
maybe the collision was amplified by our warping cars Sad
maybe it was not the best place for overtaking.

I was surprised by the number of drivers who collided or spun during the first lap ...for a 31 laps race !
We are all experienced drivers but sometimes our brain is not correctly responding.

Difficult to drive in correct line so I preferred to stay behind Tristan for all race without risk and to wait the final laps for eventually battle
His incident permitted me to pass and to control my advantage in relative tranquillity

I would like to thanks UKGPL' staff for this beautiful championship!

I had no idea why I chose the 312 Fezza before the race, maybe because I had a bucket ful of tokens to spend??

I would have done better in the Eagle I think. The setup for the Fez was far from ideal and after I clattered the barriers in the early laps it did not improve  Roll Eyes.
I had dozens of excursions, most of which I managed to wrestle back onto the track ( apologies to anyone who was compromised by a red thing emerging from the undergrowth ), but as the race progressed things got steadily more traumatic and when I finally spun on lap 17, I decided that maybe it was time to take a walk back to the pits.

After my PC probs early in the season I was never involved in this championship, but the 66's are always fun.
Grats to the podium and finishers.

If you don't see someone in your mirrors, that's because they are not behind you.

"not behind me" has several meaning : in front of me, beside me, nowhere (at 100 miles from me) ...

By the way, it seems you already had an accident on the first lap (because I started at the end of the grid) so you had to be 10 times more cautious when you overtake inexperienced bad drivers like me.

Sorry Fulvio, my gross mistake.
at the exit of the bend my car was very much in the grass and in the other cars return were next to me
I tried to reduce a gear but by a mistake I reduced 2 gears causing the car to drop dramatically
this left me baffled and lost and did not realize who was next to me or behind
A very gross mistake, I'm sorry.

OK Jonny, at the time I was a bit upset and I thought it was a joke. I had to stomp on the brakes suddenly to not hit you but I managed to not spin, but in the process I put a gear down and took the last turn a bit unbalanced and with too much power so I spun.
Anyway I hadn't any chance for the champ if Alessandro didn't retire, but I wanted to end a great season with a clean race. Then at the very last lap I managed to pass Andreas pushed by adrenaline for the spin.  Grin
Grats to Alessandro for the champ!

A small consideration about the Tokens
With this point/cost is easily allowed to use the fastest cars for many rounds, it would be nice to "force" the drivers to use most of slow cars too, so my opinion is to increase cost of various cars or to get less tokens instead 10 for any partecipation

This is only pour parler, this is my personal opinion of course, sure organizers have calculated yet this

We are planning an end-of-season review to be instigated shortly after the last race (i.e. the GT race on Tuesday). All the drivers will get a chance to raise comments and make suggestions for next season.  The moderators do have an opinion but we always welcome advice from the drivers.  We don't want to organize a season and nobody turns up because they don't like the format.  However we are also aware that we can't satisfy all of the drivers all of the time. What we will try to do is satisfy most of the drivers most of the time. That way we are more likely to get full grids which is something I'm sure we all want.

Moderation published so that is the Historics for Season 32 formally finished.

Congratulations to our champion Alessandro. Well done to Fulvio and Tim for making Allessandro work hard for his championship.

The token system seems to have worked OK. If you have any comments or suggestions for the 66F1 cars or indeed any of the championships, please check out the end of season review.
