If someone can explain how I was disqualified and kinked from the race for not pitting - after having pitted around 5 minutes earlier (and put the wrong tyres on!) please do  censored

I had been having a great race with Jeffers, who somehow managed to keep me behind despite clearly having a less than ideal car.
Then nothing Sad

Cry My race went like this, bumped on formation lap bumped on first race lap the pc froze into a light blue screen, Win10 informing me it had encountered a problem. Win7 Ultimate now out of drawer ready to go back on PC.  Not how I wanted first race back after 5 weeks to go!!

The server is up and running for the next round of the series at Snetterton on the '300' layout.

FYI :

I have changed the pit window to 10 minutes during the middle of the race to mirror the real life series

Well I did not see that post. All I saw was the OP stating  -
"Pit-stops: mandatory pitstop to be completed between 20 mins and 30 mins into race. at least 1L of fuel to be added or tyres changed"

What a great race again Smiley.

For a few minutes I had pole, but then people started to overtake me and I dropped down to 4th. Flavus gave me his 3rd position, if that was because of last race, then you shouldn't have, that was already way behind us. Or maybe it was because of something else.

Me, Alfrance and nfsw were able to pull a bit of a gap towards the rest from the start of the race. At first it looked Alfrance would drive off into the distance, but we were able to hold on to him. I had a feeling I could go a bit quicker in some parts, but I lost time in some importane corners, so I could never attack. Then the BMW went wide and we were promoted 1st and second. Before that, fmg had also joined the fight and we had some great side by side action. At some point I was considering letting him past, as he was faster, so I was hoping he would then attack nfsw and I would benefit from that.
I didn't have any special strategy as I didn't want more weight at the start. I added 94L which was way more than I saw everybody else add, but I only finished with 1 lap of fuel, so I wasn't that royal with the fuel (6,8L per lap).

Came out of the pits around 4 seconds behind nfsw, who went very long on his first stint. I was worried he would go for the softs in his 2nd stint, but I saw he picked the mediums again. I was slowly able to close the gap to him, but I was never able to try anything if he didn't make a mistake and we finished within half a second I think.

Time really flew by and eventhough these cars have been done a million times, they are always a good formula Smiley.

Amazing punctuality on the server BTW, it started at exactly 20:00  Grin.

Did you go in 1 lap too early? I went in as soon as possible and I think you were already gone behind me at that time?

I had been having a great race with Jeffers, who somehow managed to keep me behind despite clearly having a less than ideal car.

Yes, was good fun. I was driving quite safe as this track has some punishing corners, but when you attacked I took a bit more risk in the corners, which gave me just enough on the exits. If you have setup tips on how to make my car more ideal  Kiss? And don't say, take out the weight Wink.

@BOB, Sorry for the contact after the backstraight, I braked early but then got distracted looking in my mirror and cocked up my turn in for the chicane.

With regards to the compulsory pitstop, I think I may have set the server up wrong (I must have set the window to 25 - 35 instead of 20-30 mins)

For future reference a message comes up at the top of the screen during the race telling you when the pit window is open and a count down to when it closes

But the message in the game itself said the pit window was from 15 minutes into the race until 15 minutes from the end of the race. I pitted approx 30 mins in - i.e. half way

Wasn't there already some sort of message at the top?

The pitlane opened after 25 minutes, I didn't check when it closed, but the pit window was on top of the setup screen when you were in pitlane the whole time, so I didn't even now about the other times. I read  the  opening posts so well  Roll Eyes angel

I have just checked the server settings, I made an error on the pitstop times  (I put 25-35mins instead of 20-30). Sorry for the confusion  Embarrassed

Not sure what happened there then, you should have been in the middle of the window, did you have the message at the top of your screen saying the pit window was open?

The sky is falling. Another purple lap from me, on the last lap of the race. I qualified on race tyres as the porsche is impossible to do soft tyres, they overheat after the warmup lap. I changed the front pressures at my pitstop and it made a big difference, was going faster and could see that I could get that purple lap if I just persisted at it. Best thing is that I didn't pit 4 times cause I wasn't totally incompetant this time around!

I didn't read when the pit stop was supposed to be, just followed the prompt at the top of the screen which said between 25 minutes to go and 15 minutes to go.
