Got a new PB in qualy using the Lambo for my first competitive race Had a bit of a pants race really due to 3 spins, two of my own? doing with a tank slapper going into the fast 'S' curves under pressure from Truetom. Race had started well enough, got upto 4th for a while until said spin. (probably all that bloody fuel i put on after you cheeky buggers told me it drinks more than the minutes counter shows... i had topped it up and finished with 29 litres on board...gits ) Seemed to just go backwards with other people grabbing my place each time the car span off. Was catching SBG every time near the race end but due to an unfortunate spinner in front of me, i found the track blocked and lost about 7-10 secs, otherwise i think i could have got him Finished slightly disapointed for all that effort Me too on the NGT preference

Congrats to Zacari . Took the 550 for the first time tonight, after finding out it was far easier to drive than the Lister after all that NGT. Quali was good fun but I was buggered if I could do more than one cleanish lap. Hence I knew that I was going to struggle in race and I did, after incident at hairpin. I'm sure it wasn't funny for Jam, but I had real trouble when he somersaulted from the middle of the track, with no one around, right in front of me. Those stupid bloody cones strike again. I'll try that beast again. And its good to know that Sharks not in RoC .

(probably all that bloody fuel i put on after you cheeky buggers told me it drinks more than the minutes counter shows... i had topped it up and finished with 29 litres on board...gits ) It does eat the fuel. Honestly I can testify to that. I put in 93litres in for this race. It devours fuel and it's always better to have more and not use it than less and run out. There are some tracks it eats it's rear tyres too, Magny is one of them and you have to be real careful not to spin it otherwise your doomed to never get the rear temperatures down. Most tracks it's ok, but MagnyCours is particular bad for rear tyres in any car.

That was a cracking race the leader never more than a couple of seconds ahead and on the edge stuff right to the line: 2 secs covering 1-2-3. Managed a 1:34.4 early in quali that got me on pole, but with 3 others right behind I was glad it was Shark in 2nd being teammates 'n all Started fine, I was only faster in the sweeping long right-hander so I was pushing the limit there to try and build up a lead, snatched a brake around lap 4 and span, thankfully not collecting anyone else and pointing the right way a few seconds back from new leader Shark. Greg and No25 were right up with Shark and I had a job catching up, thankfully Shark backed them up somehow to allow me to get there which considering others pace was no mean feat! From around lap 10 'till the end Shark, No25 and myself we were biting at each-others heels, I was mainly trying to keep No25 looking in his mirrors until finally he managed to squeeze past Shark coming into the final complex. I tried to get a run on Shark coming towards the hairpin and managed to get a good enough drive to not unduly delay him, same corner No25 had a half-spin and we both slipped through into a narrow 1-2 lead. It was then a case of trying to be on the limit for the rest of the race, Tyf is now my fave insane penguine for letting me through so easily on the s/f straight that helped an amazing amount. After losing Monza sunday this has easily made up for that, and an early lead in the Team championship too, as well as Shark being top of the Drivers ch'p.

I 0wn @ letting peeps pass on straights... Uuh, cwap, lol! That can't be the idea of racing, lol! Seriously though, I always try to stay out of the way of leaders lapping me (learned that mostly in driving NGT in endurance races) and/or others in a fight lapping me . Question of common courtesy and gentlemanly driving imo. Hence I didn't understand why some1 would want to stay out in the kittylitter for more than 1/2 the race?! Causing a yellow flag and appearing in my view every lap, cause I drive with 'names' on... Had a decent race, tried the C5R for a bit, eats tyres as well though, hence I'll be trying the Lister for my next GTR race and hopefully be more competitive in the end instead of spinning 2 times a lap T

I have removed the final two posts of this thread as they were very clearly in contravention of the "no public incident discussion" rule.

This was my first UKGTR championship race, I took part in a fun event at Brno before. Grats to Zacari and Shark, great racing guys. I didn't have a fully tested 550 setup so wasn't surprised when the tyres started going off badly toward the end. I also had trouble with braking at Adelaide, too much pressure methinks as bias adjustments during the race didn't help. All in all a good first race for me with great driving, allowing for tight racing. Looking forward to more.

Can somebody upload the replay somewhere, a version with wheels. I was asked to make a video of this race, so I need both a good replay, and some directions on ideas (music, engines, scenes etc.) Help is much appreciated.

Magny Cours is really bad on rears in any car.

A good qualifying put me in 3rd on the grid.
Very interesting first few laps saw me go from 3-2-4-3-2-7 and finaly finishing 4th. Unfortunatly a couple of contacts cost me dearly which meant I was always around 10 secs behind the leading 3 with no way of making the time up. Oh well thats racing, some you win some you dont. Still a good race, bring on the next one.

Replay complete with wheels linkThere are some cool shots from one of the alternate on-board cameras looking at the back wheel & exhaust, the lead battle was pretty much the whole race so there's a fair bit of material there! The format of the GTL video was fine, something like that again would be great music and engine noise, dont mind the odd bit of commentary it might be useful to give direction on what's being shown.
