Are those GT3 lap times from May 2017 still possible? I just had some offline practice and nowhere near those times  Sad

Are you looking at qualifying or race times? (if the car is on softs then it'll be qualifying).
I'd imaging Chris's lap record for the race is what you should be looking at

I have to say thats a very narrow pit window and actually hinders any really attempt to even run a full tank down and then pit.

Not sure those times from 2017 are going to be reached tbh.

Flipping disconnect just as I was fighting for the lead!

The rest of the race was just trying to set purples, showing I had the pace for victory today!

Annoying thing about the Porsche is that you can't use Softs in qually (completely overheat) so you never get where you should be on the grid. I knew that because my qually pace was basically around where I would be in the race whereas everyone else would be slower I was easily in with a chance. Even better I was able to go faster than qually in race with a couple of last minute setup tweaks.

But just as I was fighting with the leader, bam, disconnect. I was hoping it was everyone but alas no. Rejoined to get the points for a finish at all (did I get any?) and fastest lap, but was all fruitless.

I feel like someone brought out the Virtual Safety Car just at the wrong moment. Wink

Cracking race that, really enjoyed it from start to finish. Not often I can make Jeff work to stay ahead  Grin
Shame you got discod Simon as was looking forward to a Porsche v Ferrari fight too.
I had a good early fight with Flavus for the lead but we had a bit of a coming together at the loop about 20 mins in, that cost us both time and allowed Jeff past. I then chased him very hard glued to his gearbox until we both pitted together at around lap 14. He got out a few secs in front of me with his uber efficient Mercedes mechanics while my Ferrari boys were enjoying a cappuccino  Roll Eyes It took me the rest of the race to reel him back in with the leader and the top 3 crossed the line in a close column of 3  Smiley
Pleased with a 3rd place finish but actually think I could have won or got 2nd plus I could have got to the end with one set of tyres in hindsight. Smiley

What a great race that was again.

Opening lap was amazing with 6 cars squabbling with eachother. It wasn't long till Simon blasted past me on the straight. That's the only downside of the weight, it leaves you dead on the straights.
Top 3 slowly pulled away from me and I had Spanner to worry about behind me. That's when Simon disco'ed and Mark started to attack Flavus, which slowed them both down and I was able to close up.
Then the 2 guys infront touched and I got 2nd behind Mark untill he gifted me the lead shortly after by going wide before Maggots.

We both pitted in the same lap, but I guess he had Haas mechanics as I got out 5 seconds ahead, which I was going to need with hindsight. At first I was surprised Alfrance overtook me during the stops, as he was a bit back before it,so I realised he didn't change tyres. I didn't know if they would go off towards the end of the race, so I had to try and keep pushing. At first I hardly gained anything, but the last 10 laps I was able to close up.
With 100kg it's quite hard to overtake as you lose so much on the straights and acceleration. It slowed me down quite a bit wich gave MJ another go at me. He tried for a Danny Ric style outbraking manoevre into Brooklands, but I was just able to hold on on the inside of Luffield.
In the last lap I thought he would try another move at the Hangar Straight, but luckily for me he backed out of that one.

Time flew by this race and grats to Alfrance for outsmarting us all with the strategy Smiley.

I'm not convinced the weight really makes any difference on the straights. I've always found that AMG to be really slow in a straight line and the Porsche comes off the corner so well that I had momentum. Even with high wing the Porsche is not half bad in a straight line (certainly in AC!)

I must have had a bit too much wing as despite often exiting beckets glued to jeffs gearbox I never had enough oomph to step out of his slipstream and get by..so the Amg isn’t shabby down the straights !
The one time I could have Dan dared him was right at the end of hanger straight but I bottled it in case of contact as it was the last lap.  Tongue

Well after surviving L1, which always tends to throw up some incidents in the first few corners on this circuit, it all went wrong in L2. At T4 an Audi decided to go for a gap that simply wasn't there. He caught my nsr quarter and spun me into Bob who then also spun, sorry Bob I was just a passenger. In an effort to push on, the Audi then t-boned Bob who was just sitting motionless in the middle of the track. Once Bob had been pushed out of the way, the Audi then carried on its way leaving two innocent victims in its wake. After that it was just a case of trying to make something out of nothing.

Fourth race in a row that I've been rear ended which has cost me race positions on SROUK, hope this isn't going to be a continuing trend.

On a technical aspect I don't think the results are correct, I finished behind NSF55 but in front of Apextechusa. It was wrong on Stracker too. There are other errors which others will no doubt point out.

Sorry for the whining post but it looked like a lot had a good race anyway.

Cheers Chris
