The Joe Shaw Memorial Trophy races are to be held in the coming weeks before we start season 33.

A slight change to the format for this year using various mods and city circuits.

So, I propose.......... we start with a warm up race at Adelaide on Tuesday 20th in 67's with the first round proper the following Sunday.

Then Milano ( Parc Sempione ) the following week in 66's, Tues day warm up with the serious stuff on Sunday.

Final round at Leipzeg in 65's, again warm up on the Tuesday and the final points race on Sunday.

The idea of a practice race before each round is so that members can get used to the cars and tracks.

In the 67's Pro drivers cannot use Lotus, Eagle or Ferrari. Ams have free choice.

In the 66's Pro drivers can only use 2 ltr cars. Ams have free choice.

In the 65's Pro drivers cannot use the Ferrari, Brabham BT11 or Lotus. Ams have free choice.

We know that Adelaide is stable and, as far as I know, so are the other 2 tracks. But if we have any issues in the warm up races we will substitute Pau.

I hope that as many as possible from Pros and Ams will join in so that we have some large grids and good racing to remember Joe ( Beefpie) Shaw.

Which brings us on to the annual JSMT presentation and where we will meet up this year.

Previously we have assembled at the Goodwood Revival, which is excellent period racing but rather expensive.
The last 2 years have been at Brands Hatch for their Historic Festival around July 1st. This has proved to be a very economical weekend with free camping at the circuit and a good selection of period cars at an iconic track.

However, there are many other venues within the UK, and even on the near continent(Zandvoort, Spa?), that could also be considered. So if any members have a suggestion as to where we could meet up this year please post in this thread. It is all about numbers and who will come and share a chat and a pint , or two.

You should be OK to dive straight in Malcolm.

Just watch the race posts for the passwords and any changes that might occur due to unavoidable administrative errors. ( OK! in case I have screwed up with the organising!!)

It is reassuring to read that even IT experts are not immune to Microsoft and Win 10 lol.

If you have any probs or questions ( about GPL ) just post here and we will get you sorted.
