Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 241s

As the pack approaches the braking zone for Adelaide for the first time there is some contact between Greg130, Maurice Claessen and then Mark@GP.
Greg leaves his braking relatively late considering it was lap 1 and has to change direction, while under heavy braking, when Evert Blommert in front moves to the right in the braking zone.
Greg locks up, Evert realises what's happening a moves left while Greg slides through and rear ends Maurice.
There is nothing Mark can do to avoid bumping Greg's stalled car, which he finds stopped on the apex as he turns in.
Although Greg braked late and did have a rear ender Evert's movement across the track in the braking zone definitely played a part in the outcome, so I am reducing the penalty from what should be 3 places for a first lap incident down to 2.

  • evert blommert (Evert Blommert)warning — choose a definite line before reaching the braking zone — 0 places lost
  • greg130 (Greg130)penalty — rear end shunt — 2 places lost
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

Server replay time: 951s

Don spins as he enters the s/f straight and ends up stuck in the middle of the track, but off the racing line.
Aagramn is approaching in the Mosler and, just as he passes, Don rejoins and clips the side of the car sending Aagramn into a spin.
Don then waits for Aagramn to rejoin ahead of him.
From Aagramn's incar view it appears that Don sees him coming and is waiting for him to pass, so Aagramn goes for the gap after a brief hesitation.
I'm a bit confused by this one because it appears from Don's incar view that he did wait initially but then started to accelerate too early, maybe not realising how close he was to the racing line, and thinking that the Mosler would be gone through by the time he got there.
In the end, after reviewing it several times, I find I have to apply the full penalty.

  • Don (Don1)penalty — bad rejoin — 3 places lost

It should be written into the race rules for Magny that "whosoever shall be last on the grid shall be honour bound to remove the offending articles ( BOLLARDS...and they are a load of  Grin ) on the formation lap"   Grin

Even in happiness you are cheap Wink. I know it's lonely in a nursing home, so that's why I keep you company, or else you would die of loneliness Grin

Right, being fool time in this series I'm here for this tonight.  Gonna give the Morgan another go as I've been driving that a bit lately, just need to try and work the setup a bit, as all I've been doing previously is using the default race setup that came with the game ... I think it might be a good idea now.

My Morgan setups are available here if you want to try one of mine. I've done a 1:40.8 on the qualifying one.

Might not suit other's driving styles but still.

Cheers Shark, might give them a whirl, but failing that I'm not too bad on the default one ... running 1:43-44 on the default race setup.

I can certainly recommend Shark's Morgan setup here, I'm almost as fast with it as the 360, only 0.2 difference.

Me too! 0.3 faster in the 360, but that was probably just a lucky lap.  Grin

I wouldn't do that. I think they are there for purpose. If they are gone we could see a lot of cutting, not to mention those strange "invisible cones" bug that can totaly destroy your car.

Nightmare race again.
Big apologies for the carnage I caused at the main straight hairpin on lap 1, made a complete mess of it and ploughed into Maurice causing a multi car smash.

Apart from that the race was OK until about 4 laps to go when the tyres suddenly died and it was like driving on ice, was so relieved when the race was over, lol.

Enjoyed that even if I wasn't competitive.

Span on lap one, but the car was relatively unharmed, got a reasonable rythmn going after that but just wasn't making any ground up on the guy infront.  Managed to avoid trouble in a couple of instances and then midway through had a good tussle with Aagramn until I span coming up to Imola, I got stuck in the sand, and had to pit to replace my tyres after smoking them whilst getting out of the kitty litter.  After that I was a 1:17 behind the guy infront, but I made up big chunks of time, no doubt to a lack of rubber towards the end of the race!  Was 17 secs behind on the penultimate lap, had a spin in Lycee, and followed Ruskus round to the finish (2 laps behind I might add!).

Starting to get it together now, so looking forward to next round.
