Yellow after 7 laps. And the car is already tricky as it is as I couldn't test it for longer stints  Grin
I'm guessing they'll be red before the end of the race ( 20 laps )

We'll see how it goes for this one, maybe they remain fine. Could also open up for different strategies.

I drove on hard tyres last night and they seemed to wear linear, but as soon as the wear bar hit the blue line (crossover from green to yellow), the wear basically came to a halt and the wear remained roughly the same for the last 10 laps or so.
I don't fully trust the tyre app, so unless everybody falls off the track, I don't really like the idea of an unrealistic tyre multiplier Tongue.

Fair enough. And now that I think about it, didn't the porsche GT1 have a bug or something where the tyre wear from the medium was the same as the softs, but the hards worked as intented ?

Just did some laps - I had to enjoy being given the garage at the bottom of the hill by pit exit - 2 years ago I managed to get up close and personal with a Wolf F1 car in that garage while the loony Japanese mechanic took photos of me Cool

20 minutes later I was still hanging over the pitwall at the top of the hill while the Grp C field went out on a Practice session in the rain Shocked
Eventually someone twigged I was the only Gaijin in the pitlane without team affiliation and I was escorted out, conveniently I had to walk through the pit garage of the LM winning 787 which isn't allowed on track in wet conditions angel

Some of the details here are very good - this actually has the seating at Spoon correct unlike all other games I can think of having tried.
Just a shame the grandstands are wrong at T1/2..

Are they really worn out, or just yellow? I often find them turning yellow but still within a few tenths of optimal.

From time to time my dyschromatopsia can be helpful. I just can't perceive that colour change from green to yellow, that means I'm a lucky guy  Grin Grin

Didn't the tyre wear seem to go very quickly on that thing as well, where the bar reached zero well before the end of the race, but there wasn't any problem with the wear, or was that another car.

I'm just going to stick mediums on for the race and run them till the end, to see where I end up  Tongue.

Did some more tyre testing and I can strongly advise not to use the medium tyre ( except for Jeffrey, you can use it  angel )

Tried to do a 21 lap stint and after around 5 laps the rear got yellow, not too bad but around lap 8/9 I started to lose about 0.5 - 1 sec compared to my best time.
Around lap 12 or so the rear tyres turned red, after that I was keeping my eye on the my other tyre app ( which just shows the exact percentage of grip, yellow is <98 and red is <96 )
At lap 17 it all went to hell. The tyres started to pass the treshold below 94% and that just means the tyres is completely done. No grip whatsoever and the percentage is dropping really quickly ( think I lost 2% in lap).
After trying to complete 2 laps more I just gave up with the rear tyres at 89% and several spins.

After that I tried a few laps of the hards but to my surprise they were pretty good. Abit more understeer but that makes the car abit easier to drive. So after 7 laps I almost beat my best lap of the mediums and the tyres still at around 99% I called it quits.

So unless your good at conserving tyres ( which I'm very bad at  Tongue )  I don't think they are gonna last a full race.

I had a good play with setups tonight - I'm not quite at Maikels pace but through playing with quite a lot of suspension parts I've ended up with a car that I finally connect with (As opposed to connecting with the armco every lap).
The esses are fantastic once the car is setup better for them, trailing and and part throttle through most of them balancing the car all the way Cool

I just need to suss out a few issues with hard tires (Meds seem to be fairly sorted) and I'm ready I guess...

Looking forward to tomorrow night!

Thought i'd better try out the hard tyres but found i was 2+secs slower with them than the mediums.

Hmm.. ok am finding the default setup pretty good, any changes i ended up doing made the balance shift, making it quicker but less preddicatable.

I was just looking at the entry list in case Jeff's entry was messed up - he has 60kg of ballast too! You're not the only 2 either!
