I use fairshift with my G25 H shifter and I had no problems with the server. Worth a try but I can't see how this could be a server issue.

Does fairshift even activate offline? It could be an issue with the program itself (I don't run it so have no idea how it's setup/used).

Onto the subject of the race I'm pleasantly surprised at how far back up the order I managed to drag myself after my utter failure to press the correct button before race start censored
I always suspected the Gordini could be surprisingly fast here as it actually has a good top speed and handles well, but my strategy was always to draft the faster cars until near the end and only try passing right at the end of the race...
Being allowed to leave the pits at about the point you lot were halfway round T2 was about as far from my planned strategy as you could get Roll Eyes

I think my qualifying time might actually have been done without tow, the 2 times I managed to draft someone I found myself having to back off either on the straight or mid corner - the Gordini just seemed to carry loads of speed there.
Unfortunately that also led to my other bad moment in the race - having just caught Phils SL I was lining up exiting either T2 or 4 ready to hold the draft and pass into the next corner when suddenly his car flew off into the wall!
Obviously not a mistake by him, it had to be contact of some sort - but I was sure I was holding back enough. Either I wasn't as far back as I thought, or lag just picked a really inopportune moment to happen Sad

I hope that didn't massively affect your race Phil - I'd noticed you were previously heavily in battle with Fulvio and Uli and would be ashamed if I ruined it (Hence waiting for you).

Otherwise apologies to everyone who found themselves suprised at the flying 'lapped' car, I'm not really sure what/how I could have made it known the server and dropped me a lap..

Congrats to Clive/Bastian for the photo finish, sorry to Doni for stealing 3rd in the closing laps and bad luck to the non-finishers.
The tracks are getting more twisty now so things will start getting harder for me now Wink

Oh, one other thing - car the server car be set as something other than a Gordini?
I keep being given the flying Banana and the brake light doesn't work in it, that caused at least one off at Pau and will only get worse further into the season Smiley

Can fairshift be switched off in GEM, or by some other means, just to see if the gears come back?

Fairshift must be  started before the GEM or Igor start otherwise the gear box don't work into the game.I can try to ask in GPL Repository if someone have an idea. The chance of succes i think that are very few.

One question for Phil:why you don't use GPLshifter?there is a reason or is only a preference?

I thought that Fairshift prevented those who use the H-Shift from gaining an unfair advantage that GPLShift provided through being able to change gear more swiftly than the original game allowed.  It is therefore stipulated as being required by, for example, GPLRACER for their races and they check the replays to establish that all gear changes took the required amount of time.

Tim that flying banana was absolutely flying!  Shocked Chapeau!

My race was uneventful, picked the SL hoping for more speed but hadn't practiced at all I started with default setup only with an increased pressure on RF tire. In qualy I found a massive understeer on turns but I was to busy to learn how to take the turns without burning the RF to try some change in the setup.
In the race I had some battle with Phil and Uli, but I couldn't defense on turns so I settled behind Uli after Phil had lost time with a spin.

That was a fantastic race and just to put the icing on the cake, I won!

Wonder when my last UKGPL win was?

A big thank you to Sam for his setup from last season.  It was amazing!  You just had to point it!

Another big thank you to Fran, for spotting in his mirrors that I was following Bastian and for giving me the room to pass.

Then finally thank you to Bastian, Evil and Doni, the people that figured in my race, for their excellent driving.  45 laps and not a scratch!

I suppose that I should thank Mercedes for the grunt in their engine that took me across the line just a gnat's nadger in front of Bastian.  Sorry about that Bastian.

Tim is keeping up a good score rate in the Gordini and will have a fortune in Thornton Dollars by the end of the season!

Not sure what happened to Evil.  He just went off in T1 in a cloud of tyre smoke when there was nobody near him.

Well done Clive! Great to see you winning again. I'm glad the setup worked for you  Smiley

Fulvio i can't use the paddle. As explained before no button work with this new wheel into gpl.

I don't think that I have the knowledge to solve this but those who can, probably need a detailed, chronological, bullet-pointed list of the observations, back to when it was last working properly.

With things like buttons not being recognised there may be more than one problem and at the minute the full story seems to be spread over about twenty posts.

It probably needs posting in the general GPL section rather than the announcements section too.

Clive i have made some post on srmz.
Now i have some solution.About thr button exist a program named joytokey that seem to work with the Fanatec.
On the other side, the gear box,Axel have remebered me the reading on the download site.
There is no a solution for this problem but thereis a suggestion:in the folder Gplshift is better to select none under device.Could be that this cause a conflict without nonone?i don't know the only way is to test in the next races.
