Only 3 finishing cars after the other drivers had various troubles : engines, collisions, freeze or disconnections.
But a well deserved win for Doni after a "terrific" duel with Clive !

No incident have been reported ...thank you guys !

Nasty. Spun out in Lap 1 and damaged my suspensio or tyre.
Could'nt hold the car in the corners and after four laps lost a wheel.

Plus side, set a few personal records for Brem:

-complete a race lap without contact (either competitor or scenery)
-complete 2 race laps without contact (  "  )

Then from lap 3 it was scrape, oops, ting, drat, bump, aaagh, then lose track in the woods miss turn-in wham wheel gone lap 9.

Grats to finishers.

Someone needs to teach me how to add brake markers to this track. Very little in the way of useful trackside objects, and they get lost in hypnotizing repetitiveness of trees. Sad

Unlucky Fran.  I had hoped your new pedals had fixed the engine problem.

Lucky result for me. A long race when trying to maintain concentration in the deadly tree lined sections.  I did spin 3 times but fortunately I didn't hit anything Roll Eyes

Grats to Doni on a fine drive. In the early laps I was trying not to make a mistake as that would have let David past. Track position is important on this circuit.  I think David crashed at T1 on about lap 6. If he hadn't I'm not sure how much longer I could have resisted the pressure sweatdrop

Grats to Doni on a fine drive. He did what I did not, and maintained a level of concentration and control around this unforgiving circuit.

I had a setup for the 3ltr Eagle from several years ago which worked well back then, but I was surprised that so many other drivers chose the same chassis. I would not have thought it was an obvious choice  ( except for the low token cost??) as it is generally a bit of an underpowered lump.

My pole lap was a PB and gave me confidence for the race to come, but Doni suddenly popped in a lap that was almost as quick in the same car!!

TBH my concentration was not what it should have been for this track, and in the early laps I was clipping barriers and kerbs where it really was not a good idea to be doing that. To Doni who was following, I must have looked like an accident waiting to happen !!! Instead of reducing my pace to 95% and regaining some consistent pace, I was pushing at close to the limit and making a mess of it.  Undecided
A small ( OK large !!) clout of the barriers allowed Doni a gift of a pass through the forest which served to make my driving even more desperate as I chased him. Doni made a small mistake and that let me back into the lead but still I had not got my brain in gear and multiple small errors prevented me from escaping Doni's attentions until I downshifted too soon for the final corner and lost the rear end.
Whilst I was parked nose into the barrier, Doni scampered away.
I tried to chase him, but as usual, the harder you try the slower you go  Undecided and I slipped back until the engine decided that I would go no furtherand went pop in the forest.

Grats to Doni, the podium and all finishers...well done guys!

No I didn't crash, I spun at turn 1 on lap 4 but without any contact with trees, walls ...or cars ! so no damage for the car.

I could continue to race, I just loose contact with you, but a few meters after my screen froze and I was disconnected  Embarrassed

It's a pity because I'm sur we could have a fun battle together with our 2 Ferrari 246.

No good for me.  thumbdown
After several join attempts and GPL mistakes I was able to set the third fastest time in qualifying. Then I gently hit the green flag to get onto the grid and GPL got out again. So that was it.  Sad

The first eight laps with a terrific duel with Clive were really hair-raising!  And I don't have much left up there to spare.  Smiley

Supreme bad luck to suffer an engine failure, Clive.  Scant reward for a fine performance.  Ditto Dean with a corner-pruning against a barrier.  Interesting to see that at one point, the top three positions were occupied by the Eagle-Weslake.  When was the last time you saw that?  Most likely never.

Poor Andreas didn't even make the start after a good qualifying effort.  Bad luck, amigo.  Bas, too, had a less than memorable outing.

I suppose that I should consider myself lucky at all to have made the race as at 10 minutes past the hour with the race start just 20 minutes away, I was still napping.  Woke with a start, looked at the clock and panic stations!  Logged on and tried to shake out the cobwebs.  Lucky to have placed P2 on the grid even though I have a PB in the T1G of a 2m13.25s lap.  That was arrived at through countless setup changes to find the right gear ratios and I'm still not sure I've got it nailed.

As Clive has pretty much described it, there was nothing much between us til he suffered a half-spin at the Forsthaus hairpin that let me get away to a 7-8 second lead.  This place unnerves me and to keep the gap meant push-push-push.  Only after Clive's V-12 called it a day did I have the chance to cruise for a bit.

Phil did a good job to score a fine P2 and Billy a P3.  Grats, guys!

Interesting that you had spent time playing with gear ratios Doni. I am lazy these days, and simply drag out an old setup that might have worked years ago in the hope that I can still drive it!! lol

I "sat in" with you for a lap after I bust my car and was surprised to see you regularly almost hitting the 10k rev limit ( very careful gear changes and no speedshifting  Wink )and holding 4th gear along sections where I was upshifting to 5th and trying to keep revs at around 9.5K max....but my engine expired and yours did not, such are the gods of GPL??!!  Undecided

I could tell that you were running different ratios when we were at close quarters and it was interesting that we were quicker at different points of the track. My 1st gear was definitely too low, or I was downshifting too soon.  I had locked the rears at Forsthaus on previous laps but managed to hold the slide, before I went a little too deep and too fast and screwed my race.
