Moderator's Report

Only 3 finishing cars after the other drivers had various troubles : engines, collisions, freeze or disconnections.
But a well deserved win for Doni after a "terrific" duel with Clive !

No incident have been reported ...thank you guys !

I swear, Clive, that I went through about 20 iterations of gear ratios looking for the optimum.  No, that's a bit too low here.  Hmmm...  That's a bit too tall there.  Sigh...  The torque-less Weslake is always a challenge to dial in.  I finally settled on a 1st gear that was reasonable for the grid and could help me at the Forsthaus hairpin without having the revs go to the moon; for a good 2nd gear at Eichholz(not too low for that corner but hopeless for acceleration off Forsthaus), a 3rd gear that was somewhat tall for exiting Tenni but fed nicely into a 4th gear that peaked for the Wohlenstrasse at the top of the hill and the section beyond.  Top gear was just to keep the revs to 9500 or thereabouts.

Most definitely a compromise and most definitely, the Eagle chosen for token considerations.

I would have chosen the Eagle too, but the Climax,
if not yesterday afternoon we had a thunderstorm and a big flash hit a house about 200m from me and destroyed my Fritz!Box router...

Now I have installed a spare Fritz!Box and hope to get a new one soon  Roll Eyes

It's a pity because I'm sur we could have a fun battle together with our 2 Ferrari 246.
Yes we were very evenly matched.  Looking forward to the next round

Cripes, Axel!  Too close for comfort!

Hope that you're back in action soon.

I almost didn't race due to lack of practice. There were multiple shunts in qualifying & I only managed two timed laps. It took me a few race laps to get confident. I was way off the leaders pace but Pribulda was telling me that survival was a good strategy. Slightly surprised, but certainly not displeased with a podium. On the last lap I saw the gap between me & Phil start to diminish rapidly & wondered if 2nd place was up for grabs.

LOL  there is always a chance with me Bill. I nearly binned it completely on the last lap. I always find it hard to maintain concentration without having someone to race wheel to wheel with. Never give up when you are behind me  Wink
