Yep, it is. Stephen did a series with these a while back, and it worked well. This is maybe the final non champ race. I am in Birmingham next week, then doing a sprint at Snetterton 100 the following weekend so will have limited test time. But I would like to start 2 or 3 new series the week after, might be a bit ambitious, but would be good if not I will put on another fun race with "something" "somewhere" I could do with some comments about which of the test races you would like to see as a series? So far, I am thinking the single seaters didn't get much love. The DTM92/Touring Classics and the Gr5/GTO combos are probably going to get a series each. But I can run 3 series if other cars appeal? The Fabcar Porka perhaps? these Sillhouette maybe? This is intentionally an easy event for people who don't have R3E to have a go at ZERO Expense! If anyone wants to see what it's like, download the game http://game.raceroom.com/ The cars and the track come with the free install, so just install it through Steam, and join in

I like the sound of both a combined GR5/GTO and DTM92/Touring Classics series. For a third series, what about using the cars left out of those groups - ie alternating between single make Fabcars one week, and Nissans the next? Limited variety admittedly, but these are both fun cars to drive and a shame not to use them at all.

Agreed Frex. The silent Italian vote (based on when they come to play) is the same. The Skyline from Touring Classics might yet be allowed with it's pals, not sure about that I can't decide whether the Volvo is too fast, or Picnic is Don't want to take it out or there is little point in the merger. I expect Gavino would be up front in any of the cars so it's more driver than car I think. We did find that the Skyline was a bit faster than the others previously, and I don't like that handling of it, it doesn't feel quite connected to the road somehow rather like some of the standard cars in AC don't feel right. So I am reluctant to give it it's own series, the Fab Porka is worth it though.

I can't decide whether the Volvo is too fast, or Picnic is Don't confuse it with the WTCC where life was fairly easy, I don't think I had quite the same level of success with the older one. However I'll probably randomly pick something else the 1st night of the next series and run with that.

I enjoy the Silhouettes and would like to try the DTM/touring classics but can only race every other Thursday night (at best) due to real life getting in the way

The more the merrier Stephen, as always, please come along when you can I used to use the Touring Classics Volvo in previous series, and I was maybe slightly quicker in it than in some of the other cars, but I don't remember winning much So I think it's more driver than car. So far it is looking like 3 series: 1: DTM92/Touring classics (- the Nissan probably) 2: Gr5/GTO ( - the Fabcar Porsche 935) 3: Fabcar Porche 935 I really like the Sillhouettes, for a fantasy car they are very well done. But I like to keep with the Thursday Historic feel as much as I can. We could use them for a future series for sure.

Are we happy that the times are similar if we are combining two classes together? GTO and grp5 doesnt sound like being similar speeds tbh.

Perhaps for aliens who can get more out of them, but for me the times are very similar I will do a few laps in all to check though.
EDIT: Not an exhaustive test, but, I tried the Nissan 300ZX from GTO, and the Capri from Gr5, round Red Bull Ring and I get exactly the same times (low 1:31) within 2 tenths in both cars after 6 laps or so. Some cars may be quicker at some tracks, and some people get better times in some cars than other people, but for me it's close enough for our purposes. Perhaps I might run it as we drop the most popular or highest points score after each race in Gr5/GTO, and DTM92/Touring Classics
Probably will be 6 events each for the 3 championships, which will leave more than one car for the final in each series. (Except Fabcar...)

Not a fan of forcing people into cars that they then struggle to drive. Especially when your combining classes to open up the choice.

Sure, it is just an idea if one of the cars proves to be too fast for the others I am not expecting to need to do it. We can always just drop one car from the list if required.

I can probably reset the server at 19:45 (ish) but I am on the world's slowest free wifi, which drops every few minutes. Assuming I can, please could someone join the server at 19:45 to start the clocks? last week I struggled to get the clocks right as people had joined to practice before 19:45, which started the session clocks early. Is a pain, but it's the way the server works.
