Track: SalzburgRing
Time of Day Setting: 13:00

(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules especially the
rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Race Room Racing Experience from Steam, and have the relevant Track Packs for this series
(4) Please exercise caution when pitting as some tracks have a speed limit.

(5) Please follow the SROUK guidelines for using kerbs etc. Please keep 2 wheels on the track surface (kerbs do not count as track surface)
Excessive cutting of corners will seen as cheating and the results may be altered to reflect this.

Not sure this is much of a birthday treat, not a fan of this track, or tbh the car but not driven it much.

It really does pay to keep doing the leaderboard competitions, i've just found 500vrp in my inbox from doing the DTM around silverstone GP a few weeks back! Shame theres nothing to spend it on atm.

Yes, I thought it would be an easy one to learn for the 1st proper race

No chance of making this one as once again it's baking hot in my man cave and neither me nor my pc is up to it  surrender Have fun.

Enjoyed that. Spent the whole race chasing Matt - getting closer under braking and through the twisty bits, only to see him get much better exits out of the corners and pull away again. Mistakes dropped me back a bit once or twice, but good fun. Good drive Matt, congrats.

Horrible car and horrible track. Why people seem to think this car is quicker than the other group 5's I don't know!

Wont be driving it again

I certainly learnt nothing from our previous outing here in this car as I went off at least 3 times again  Embarrassed

Hopefully it gets easier at other tracks.........

Always open to suggestions for suitable tracks. Otherwise you will just have to trust my judgement  Roll Eyes
The tracks for this series are not set yet, and could be easily changed anyway.

The tracks for the DTM92 series are following the real 1992 series where we have those tracks
and I have substituted something similar (ish) where needed, so I would prefer not to change those.

For me to win in a porch of any flavour is just wrong  Shocked
If I can drive one round here, then anyone can.

These are not included in the Gr5/GTO series because in the past, good pork herders (like Tudor) were
able to get them to go significantly faster than the other Gr5 cars. I am usually slower in these than
the others, but then  I am normally rubbish in anything with the horse behind me.

Dieter and Pete were a little faster, but I managed to only mess up a couple of times, and had no
major offs, so stayed in front. Pete messed up the 1st chicane lap 1, allowing me through after
I made a slow start, then pulled out a bit, only to have Dieter slowly gain, then fall back, repeat, repeat

All the Grp 5 and GTO cars are a handful for me but I will continue to fight them! I race for fun and hope to continue for a few more years.  wheelchair rockon

I don't know what people did with their setups but as I saw the engine damage indicator flash on the back straight during practice so I lengthened top gear. Looking at the time differences I lost time down the long back straight most laps to Dieter and he says you pulled away better than he did! I'm sure there is a lot of time to be gained if you sort out a setup that works for you.

I played around with the gear ratios and found that a higher ratio gave me fastest lap but with the Turbo Capri, at Imola, I found over reving at the end of the "straights" gave the fastest lap. Like you say a lower gear helps acceleration out of corners.

I did the same. Gained about 5kph at the end of the straight but I'm not sure whether it was faster or slower over the whole lap..
