Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 0h11m42s

Lap 5 - Vialone - Axel Cookie and Dean Logan

Dean has a good exit out of Lesmo 2 and pulls alongside Axel as they approach Vialone. Dean has the inside line and he leaves his braking until the last second. Axel maintains a wide line but Dean runs a little deep into the corner and drifts to the outside well before the apex. Dean's right rear wheel clips Axel's front left wheel forcing Axel onto the grass. Dean is unaffected, Axel looses a lot of time but he manages to avoid major contact with the armco and can continue.

Axel did nothing wrong.

Dean had 75% overlap at turn-in so he was entitled to attempt the pass. However during the manoeuvre he should have kept to his own side of the track. He was clearly going too fast to maintain the inside line and ended up almost going onto the grass on the outside. The penalty guidelines for a Simple Side by Side Contact Scenario 4, clearly states that drivers must stay on their own side of the track when contesting a corner.

...My engine broke with a little help...

You mean all those ragged speedshifts, while working against me from step 1, slowing us down for no gain, PARKING in my blind spot, pulling out of the draft at the worst possible time, forcing me offline (because you KNOW I won't turn in if I don't know where you are) to the point of scraping barriers and taking severe damage, trying to get me to crash, pulling what are in my opinion STUPID attacks AND defenses? Yeah, they'll do it.

If you don't know by now that going around the outside of someone traction-limited through Ascari is a generally BAD IDEA, when an easy draft and outbrake is available ONE CORNER LATER, that you KNOW I won't defend mightily because there's NO POINT, then I just can't even.

Report it or bite it.

Andreas, no apology necessary. I know it is very difficult to move a car at low speed on the banking. With my approach speed I had to pick left or right & hope for the best. Going heavy on the brakes would probably have had the same end result & risk collecting your car.
Well done Fran on 2nd place - not bad for an Amateur. Whilst the IGOR situation was unfortunate I don't think it justifies a replay.

Grats to Dean and Fran, they were way in front by the end of the race.

I think I was the last guy on to the server last night. I had selected the 3 litre BRM because I had rarely used it before and I wanted to tweak the handling to suit my driving.

Just as I arrived at Monza10k, qually finished and the countdown to the start began, so I just had to grab a setup and go to the grid  Shocked Shocked and that was right at the back of the grid!

All I had time for was to lengthen the top end ratios for slipstreaming...and that was a total guess!!! When the flag dropped i found myself passing several cars on the run down to T1 and I began to worry that my ratios were all too low and all I had under the bonnet was acceleration, and no top end.Huh
By the end of lap 1 I knew that 5th and 6th were not quite right, but at least I would not be blowing the engine, even if they were a little too high. In fact I could run the bankings in 5th and only needed 6th for the very end of the straights  Undecided Undecided
The handling was a bit unpredicatable too which resulted in a few offs in the early laps until I learned to adapt the braking and cornering.

At one point I was back to last place again and chased down Andreas in his Cooper, but when I caught him he seemed to respond by speeding up!!
Together we closed down Phil and Bastian, who were having their own battle in Ferraris and I was surprised that we had the pace to catch them. Then Bastian had some problems and dropped out so it was Phil, Andreas and myself in a ding dong battle of slipstreaming and close racing  thumbup2
We caught and passed a limping Axel, so our three way battle was now for the bottom step of the podium with about half the race still to go.
It was very clear that both Andreas and Phil had more speed than I did, and I was trying different ways of getting off the final turn for the drag race to the line, but whatever I tried ..they were always across the line before me!!!  : Undecided

I was sure that I was going to finish behind Phil and Andreas, until on the last lap Andreas disappeared from the battle and I was ahead of Phil into the last banking. But Phil's Fezza was just too quick with the benefit of the tow and he swept past easily to take 3rd.
I then discovered that I had an extra 10 galls of fuel on board!! maybe that was why I was struggling for top speed??

LOL, thats what I call fake news!

Watching the replay everybody can see it was you overtaking me and squeezing and knocking me out in Ascari...
Incident reported!

Qualification   =    20:45  UK time -> 45min
Race   =    race starts at ~21:30 UK time
This is exactly what the server did, (ok I startet it 20:40 for 50 min Qual) the race begun at ~ 21:30 UKtime

Problem is iGOR ATM that comes and goes every some minutes,
maybe the posting of the IP in the race thread has to become obligatory, but my IP changes everyday...

Hosting and importing the results and uploading the replay summs up to >1 hour after the race for me, esp if I have to divide light and heavy !!!

IMO using TS3 would help to avoid such situations Wink

Or we will decide to stop after 40 min and restart the server. On the server you do not see that igor is down!

Great race with Evil and Andreas. We were swapping places every lap. I could only keep up thanks to the generous draft Grin. Sorry about the contact on the last lap Andreas, I didn't feel anything (it looks like warp contact to me). Pity it would have been a three car sprint to the line!

Yeah, I also dunno exactly what happend.  Undecided Also was my Plan to grab the two places from you.  Wink Maybe the next time.  laugh

Thank you Phil, but my speed was not enough to catch the 3 in front. My luck was that Arf-Arf and Axel have had incident.
Mystery the speed of Dean.Comparing the best laps with the replay analyser ,my car lose time after the second of Lesmo.
Could be a difference in traction exiting the corner?

OK Cookie, I understand now how it works.
Yes, this would be nice to post the IP address on the trace topic just after hosting.
