But it shouldnt be on you SRW, you are not the only person! there are multiple people running series. What happend to people restarting the servers after each event and setting them up?

I'll look to see if i can work out how to get on the server and set things running if i notice it in future

AC is by far the hardest game to setup and configure of those we use. I don't like to meddle with SRW's files as there are many options and it's easy to not setup the server as intended. To make matters worse we have 3 sets of config files, 2 for Jeff's Wednesday night races and 1 for SRW's Sunday events.

Yeah i was expecting you just change a few option on a dialog box and click run, or something like that!

Found the Remote Desktop buried in the start menu and logged on and had to come out and recheck stracker link to confirm a server was actually running!

Ok i can understand for the events them selves, but i assumed it was setup for the next event once the previous one was done. It builds momentum, getting people to practise, talk about practising, seeing times. Offline is not the same.

I have some teething problems to sort out relating to peoples GUID's in the driver file. But once this is sorted it should be relatively easy to switch the server after races:

1. change the track link, password, session durations, pit window in the CFG file
2. update the ballast settings in the driver file

In this instance it was the culmination of not having time to sort out the driver GUID problem and then being on holiday which has delayed the practice server so much. I agree totally with you spanner about the practice server and getting people discussing it in the race thread. Hopefully I should be able to get it up and running within a day of the previous race finishing from now on

Ok. Ah ballast, ok. Had forgotten about that. Wasnt meant to be a moan specifically at you SRW, sorry.

Thought Picnic had sorted the GUID problem after the last race?

Thought Picnic had sorted the GUID problem after the last race?

PICNIC kindly diagnosed the problem, the driver GUID's were all wrong, they got corrupted when I cut and pasted them into an excel file (I have Win10 and an old version of excel which it turns out do not work properly together!)

I have just sorted out the GUID problem, updated the ballast and got the practice server up and running for tomorrow nights race. When people who registered for the series (and ALFRANCE who now has some ballast) log onto the server and choose their car type they should be automatically allocated their ballast and skin of choice. if anyone encounters a problem shout out in this thread

enjoyed that race, I was pretty close on pace to Matt, but I kept making mistakes when I tried to push harder to close the gap, you really have to be careful pushing the front end as it bites back hard if you lean on it too much.

Shame it has been a low turnout in the first couple of rounds, especially as there seemed to be so much interest in the test races a few months ago

Next round is at Symmons Plains, a short lap and you can lose a lot of time if you run wide at some of the corners!
