...the longer the race went on the more I found myself enjoying it...

I had the same m8. I think Silvy has a sort of flow to it, that u need to get into, then it's a great track! Cheesy

Btw did I mention that I made the car spin over the s/f line when counter was on 0.00.00 and race was finished but I needed to do 1 more lap, rofl! Tongue Grin Check replay for a laugh, haha! Limping (inside joke for JonM here Wink) last lap to pit was quite entertaining, rofl!

T

P.S. First time ur getting an 'unstoppable' JonM... in UT2k4 take a screenie m8, else I won't believe ye Wink

That was a blast, for so few turning up I was really glad of a good battle at the front! clap

Qualifying was very close- Mo put in a cracking 1:41.8 and I managed to edge infront by about 0.02 sec which I was very happy with!  Couldn't believe how much faster you were through the first sector, a good 0.4s and it kept me very honest in the race as well.

The race was very similar to quali, first 18 laps to my first stop I lead by no more than 2 sec, and had mo right behind me as I pitted.  Took it fairly easy into the pits but crew did a good job, about 41 sec.  Came out 5th which didn't bother me, but had to push like hell to stay infront of Mo who pitted on the next lap.  Then (I thought) it was a case of keeping my position and waiting for everyone to pit... how wrong that was!  Lap 25 ish I was still in 2nd, 15 secs behind someone who I thought hadn't pitted yet... didn't catch Krueger until lap 30-ish and managed to get past into Club.  Cracking job to do the race on one set of tyers, I had to check the replay to convince myself you'd stopped! Shocked Cool

There were one or two bugs that were a bit odd, the fuel bug being one of them.  Around lap 10 the 'next corner' markers disappeared, (for me at least, not the 200/150/100 ones but the one that flashes up below the virtual mirror to say what the next corner is).  I don't use them but never turn them off, and I noticed when they weren't there!  The one that puzzled me the most however was the race distance, which shouldn't have been 37 laps atall.  Races are supposed to be 1 hour or (500/3)Km long, and the distance limit was reached at 33 laps which should  have been how long the race was.

Still a very enjoyable (and tiring!) race, hope there's a few more of 'em even though there wasn't that great a turnout.  Backmarkers as usual did a bang-up job of being predictable and curteous Smiley and grats to TT for the NGT win, and managing to avoid Krue and myself into Club Wink Cheesy

Decided to take the team car out for a spin and took the F575 this time.

Joined in pretty late and took an old Barcelona setup which i slightly modified during qualifying session and car felt pretty good for a race , but the gap for the 2 front runners was quite big and tried to even out things with diferent strategy.   Mandatory pit didnt really suite this car for such a  short race , but i thought anyway that i'll try with 100 liters of fuel and same tires , so i only selected 'no change' for tires on pitboard.

Pitstop took only 5 seconds and i had about 18 seconds lead when i got back in the track , but the next few laps told me that without a big mistake from the car behind me , he would catch me easily before time runs out. Car turned out to be Zacari and after a short struggle , i gave it away in club corner while i was trying to defend my position , locked the brakes and slided across the track , i was really worried that i collect one of the NGT's with me , but from the replay it seems like there were enough room for all of us afterall.  Sorry about the heartbeats thou , car was a bit difficult to drive at that point allready  , but at the heat of the moment i forgot how difficult  laugh.

Congratulations !!! Good solid run from Zacari , at the end i didnt have anything to say and last 2 laps was merely surviving from my point of view , maybe i should have changed tires after all  , but it's easy to say afterwards , was a fun challenge to try it this way anyhow and 2nd place is ok result  , for a moment i thought i gonna loose that too  Grin.

Grts to TT too and ofcourse all the others who showed up , thx for the race and hope to cya all soon in track again.

Ok well cool but I don't think that fuel bug is good for ES3.. unless it can be fixed

The fuel estimations being wrong is hardly a showstopper, they're not that accurate at a lot of the standard issue tracks! Roll Eyes

did anyone try that Lemans v3.3 from Hepto site? Lemans is ace, luv the long straights - would be great track for ES3.

I tried to but the first part didn't download properly. Will try again at some point but why do these buggers insist on packaging them as executables?! Huh

ps. It's "UE3" in standard nomenclature, not "ES3". U for UKGTR, E for Endurance, 3 for Season 3.

I tried for days to download it but gave up in the end. Maybe it's better to get hold of now but if I have to spend that much effort downloading it it sucks.

LeMans is rubbish for league racing too, you will never see anyone and most of the lap is falling asleep on the straights. It's great for a special event (which we will run round the real LeMans weekend), but not for good racing and definately not for a championship event.

Then my incompetance took over. I pitted in, got the limiter on absolutely perfectly and headed for my pit box which was the one nearest the entrance and decided to clip the wall spinning me round (like a record baby, right round) 1800. Of course, then I paniced and lost about 20sec turning round and altering the pit board only to then rejoin 5 sec behind Shark.

That explains that one then. I thought I would be miles behind you and TrueTom as you were only 10 seconds or so behind before I had my first spin. I almost quit after my pit stop as I was so far behind, but thought **** it and carried on through the pain barrier. After spinning another 2 or 3 times getting a 2nd place felt very undeserved.

Think I span in front of 2 GT cars too, very sorry about that. Probably thought it was the pressure of being lapped, I wish it was, but I just couldn't hold the Morgan over the bumps most laps, it was like trying to sit on a bucking bronco.

I think I've managed to get it this time. It's over 100MB remade into a proper Zip file, I'll try it out sometime this week.
