Just been looking at the GTL section of Race Department website, they seem to have a number of new 70s/80s touring car mods there:

MG Metro Turbo
Alfa Romeo 75 Turbo
Holden Commodore VL
Jaguar XJS V12
Ford Sierra RS500 Cosworth
Ford Escort RS1600i & RS1600 Turbo
Nissan Skyline DR30
BMW M3 E30
Mercedes 190e 16v
BMW 635CSi
Renault 5GT
Rover SD1 3500
Alfa Romeo GTV

https://www.racedepartment.com/forums/gtl-mods.484/

Might make a good series in the future.

Good call Geoffers. Downloaded then all but could not find the Renault 5 GT only the overheating fix for it.

I'll have to contact Jon C at some point if we plan to host/run these mods.

Renault 5GT is about 10 down from the overheating fix.

A couple more cars from this era recently released. Toyota Supra Turbo & BMW M3 E30 DTM.

I am currently testing all these cars to get an idea of how evenly matched they are. I think they can be split into 2 groups, the early 80s cars & the later homologation specials late 80s cars.

In the early group the Rover, Jag XJS & BMW 635 are fairly equal followed by the Alfa GTV6. The Escort Turbo is a bit slower followed by the Metro Turbo, which is a real difficult car to drive. The Corolla is not far behind that, but the Escort RS1600i is ridiculously slow, has lots of grip but no power.

Not finished the later cars yet, will report on them at a later date, suffice to say the Sierra RS500 is a rocketship!
