Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 57s

Paul968 qualifies in 23rd and takes 22nd place at start of warm up lap. No attempt made to return to correct place.

  • Paul968penalty — Incorrect start position, 1 place gained during warm up. — 2 places lost
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

Server replay time: 238s

Jamera is following Paul968 through the complex of bends before the start finish straight. Jamera carries to much speed into the right hander, locks the brakes and gently taps Pauls rear causing Paul to spin.

  • Jamerapenalty — Late braking resulting in rear impact — 2 places lost

Server replay time: 922s

PaulW enters the tight right at the begining of the chicane, as he goes through the apex he loses traction and doesnt accelerate out of the corner very well. Bernie Lomax is behind Paul and gets a good run though the right hander. Unfortunately, Bernies momentum through the corner causes him to close on Paul very quickly and the rear shunt is unavoidable causing Paul to spin. Bernie had little or no time to react to Pauls slow exit speed.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 1055s

JohnnyDee and Greg130 head for the tight right turn 2. Greg brakes later than Johnny and is attempting to pass inside. Greg gets a slight lock and slides as they enter the corner hitting Johnny and causing him to spin. Johnny has left plenty of room on the inside but Greg fails to control the car through the turn causing damage and loss of positions to JohnnyDee.

  • greg130 (Greg130)penalty — Loss of control under brakes resulting in rear impact — 2 places lost

Server replay time: 1814s

Paul968 exits the chicane with Ruskus moving inside him to lap him. Ruskus is moving alongside for a clean pass down the inside into the right hander when he appears to have a loss of grip and a slight slide under acceleration. At the same time Paul turns in and the cars make side contact.

  • Racing incident

Replay and provisional results posted.

Wasn't going to do the race as I was meant to be doing something else. But other things got in the way so I found myself suddenly free at 8:45 so I joined in Smiley

Sadly no practice meant I was a bit erratic but the race was going ok until I got a stop go for going the long way around a corner  Undecided Daft game. Sort of messed me up and I quit after a silly accident caused through loss of interest.

Great battles before then, very clean too. Amazingly consistent pace up front too. Good stuff.

I loved it, i see that you guys are really fast and know how to race, i had some nice battles with shark but with 2 cut warnings i was slow at t1 and i lost my pace of race.

in next race GS will try to be more competitive.

Thanks.

Great race again peeps!

Not praccied, but managed a decent 1,18, 14th on grid. Had some great battles with Minton for a bit, then Greg for laps, spun, managed to be 7th at some point, spun again, I guess Wink and then battled it out with JohnnyD till the end, which was great racing. Tyres were ice in last couple of laps, so quite happy to finish 10th Cheesy.

Grats Rusk (and answer ur PM! Wink Tongue Grin)

On to the next 1!

Cool

T

P.S. For me it was Locutos that warped around after T1 which made me brake a bit early (scary as heck when a car does that 50 yrd jumping, lol) and prolly caused some probs behind me, hehe.

Great race, good fun. Never been accused of being a warp car before, my net is always solid. Even more worrying, twice during qual & race all the cars on track disappeared for 3 or 4 secs, was very scarey not knowing if it was safe to turn in, brake or what.

Ouch, just watched the replay, my car sinks into the track on S/F str8, then stops just before T1, thats exactly where everyone disappeared. Sorry for the ensuing mayhem, wasnt aware of it here obviously.

Yep - another fun race, and not much spinning on my part for a change.  Lost time in T2 a couple of times.  Had some great tussles through most of the race, just got a bit lonely at the end of the race.

Haven't got a clue how you guys at the front do the laps you do .... well, other than bothering to practice, getting a decent setup and having a bit more driver skill and experience Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy.

Grats Ruskus on the win - fraid there was nothing I could do to spoil it this time  Tongue.

I was very pleased to qualify 8th and could even keep the position for some laps. And then the mistakes started, as most of the races due to lack of experience and concentration. Worked my way back to 13th and even 19th.

No worries Ruskus, there was contact but with no consequences.

Is there anything more annoying than a ridiculous stop/go penalty (other than our Euro song contest entry) ? Fair enough running wide on first corner got me one, but then I got two running wide into little chicane that follows hairpin. Where I lost a lot of time and a couple of places anyways  taz.

Great fun apart from that. Surprising fun in the Cortina, still prefer mini  Smiley, and new wheel. Great comedy moment, laughing at Gregs (badly) botched overtaking move I ran wide and and he snuck back through. Great move mate   Wink. And it was a little scary trying to hold up a pack of hungry Alfas, amazing that one of the GS boys was up front in Cortina. Hopefully us humans can be more competitive in it as well.

LOL! I was 1 of those Alfas. Can remember thinking 'who the heck is holding us all up?! Angry Angry Angry , bloody hell, pass him then, EGGS!, he's in a Cortina! FFS! Grin'
TBH u helped me a lot there Gin, gave me time to catch up with Greg and the others and when u finally cracked, I had some great other battles as well Smiley.

I got a bloody stop go for running wide at T1 & the last turn, sooooo annoying. Anyway was so far down the field I decided to ignore it and wait for the DQ  Tongue

Gotta say that was a fun race until that point, but I am a little disheartened that I seem to be so far off the pace in GTL (not that I'm the quickest in GTR, but the guys tell me I'm improving. Mind you I think they just tell me that so they won't be the slowest team driver Undecided )

Anyway, practice, practice, practice, though that's proving difficult with so much BF2 action going on   Grin Wink Grin

I have made another one. This video is made a bit different. This time I was aiming at making the scenes fit the music and the rythm.

VIDEO

P.S: I need more room for future videos. This was the last one I can host at Shark's FTP. I even had to delete one. So if somebody can spare some space Kiss

Once again, confusion on the formation lap!  I did read the rules, BTW; missed that section the first time through because I never knew we would be doing rolling starts.  On this one, I could not understand what the cars in front of me were doing Huh; a gap would open and we would race ahead -- attempting to catch up, I thought -- only to have brakes slammed on again.  Without a steady pace to lock onto I was unsure when it was safe to warm the tires versus trying to get back with the leaders and keep up.  Going into the final turns the leaders got so far away from us that there was a push to catch up, but when we arrived at the s/f line, more brake lights came on??  Shocked Huh Sad  I ended up tapping Eddie Meyer in the rear, sorry for that Embarrassed (no harm, fortunately), when he slowed down again for Dan Minton who still had a gap to make up.  Basically, we lost our orderly line somewhere.  Perhaps it's better in the last turns to concentrate more on the orderly line and less on tires/brakes??  We really should not have to be playing catch-up at all on the formation lap.

That little holdup at the s/f line gave ginsters the chance to get a drive on me at the start, but I got the spot back in T2.  I bobbled a lap later and gave the spot back after which a furious battle ensued while the rest of the pack was getting away.  I finally got the drive out of the last turn and going into T1 we were side-by-side, but ginsters stayed over to the right a little bit, pushing me to the inside and causing me to bobble the braking and jump the curb (cut track...) which then pushed me wide coming out of the turn.  Roll Eyes  I know there's plenty of room for two to make it through there and I think that could've been much cleaner.  But I got by and started re-catching the field.

A few laps later, making progress but dripping with sweat, I made an error and rejoined in the middle of an ongoing battle between Tyf and Greg130.  Greg130 really wanted to get back that spot behind Tyf and made a braking error going into T2 from way to the inside (which I was trying to defend going into the turn...); I was spun and my car was not the same after that (perhaps minor damage) so I was unable to catch the field again. Sad

Much later in the race I was able to get behind Tyf for some really great battling: I would catch up, try to set up a pass, get thwarted and drop back, then do it again. Cheesy Great stuff! Grin Two laps from the end with our tires in flames, Tyf had a hot-tires-moment under acceleration Shocked which was just enough to give me the spot, onto which I was able to hang for the last laps despite some really heavy driving on his part. Cool If you watch the replay, you can see how misbehaved our cars were at the end laugh, especially going into T2 for the last time as I totally bobbled the braking.

A very good race that could've been even better!

   -=> J <=-

PS -- I see Tyf describes our tires at the end as "ice" ... fire and ice, LMAO!  I can also see cars lagging at the start in my replay which could have been a factor in my confusion during the rolling start as I remember seeing some cars jumping around a bit.  MUCH better to have the GTL start lag problem on a formation lap than a hot race lap!!
