Password: see above
(2) Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page

Server: Simracing.org.uk GT3

Practice: 20:00 (30 mins)
Qual: 20:30 (15 mins)
Race: 20:45 (40mins)

Cars allowed: GT3
Time of Day Setting: 13:00
Weather: Dry

Start: Rolling start
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal
********
Pit-stops: mandatory stop changing 2 tyres, fuel is optional. See post below for pitstop rules********

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see
cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules especially the
rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Race Room Racing Experience from Steam, and have the relevant Track Packs for this series
(4) Please exercise caution when pitting as some tracks have a speed limit.
(5) Start procedure
*It will be the pole sitter's responsibility to complete the first lap at a pace that allows the rest of the grid to follow comfortably
*There should be no overtaking or hard accelerating/braking
*Drivers should avoid getting too far behind or too close to the driver in front
*Approximately 20 seconds before crossing the start line the pole sitter should slow down to a speed of no more than 50mph (80km/h)
*Each following driver shall close up directly behind the driver in front also maintaining a speed of no more than 50mph (80km/h)
*The pole sitter should maintain that speed until they cross the start line and then accelerate away to start the race (lap2)
*Each following driver should only accelerate when the driver directly ahead does (they do not have to wait until crossing the start line)
*No overtaking is allowed before crossing the start line at the completion of the formation lap
(6) Please follow the SROUK guidelines for using kerbs etc. Please keep 2 wheels on the track surface (kerbs do not count as track surface)
Excessive cutting of corners will seen as cheating and the results may be altered to reflect this.

PITSTOP RULES

1. During timed races the mandatory pitstop window opens 3 minutes into the race and closes 3 minutes from then end. There will be a prompt at the top of the screen to remind you.

2. The pitlane speed limit is 60 KPH. The section of the pitlane which is covered by this limit is highlighted at the start and finish by a white line on the tarmac and a traffic cone at either side of the line.

3. If you drive in this section between 60 & 100 KPH you will get a drive through penalty. If you go over 100 KPH you will get DISQUALIFIED FROM THE RACE

4. You must change at least two tyres during the pitstop, Fuel is optional.

5. You can preset your pit strategy before the race or change it on the fly during the race

6. If you map the starter and ignition buttons you will have to stop and start the engine manually during the pitstop (my advice is to unmap the buttons so that the game starts and stops the engine for you during the stop)

7. Make sure you have the 'PIT SPEED LIMITER' AND 'PIT REQUEST' buttons mapped. Towards the end of your inlap press the 'Pit request' button (if you do not do this the pitcrew make you wait for an extra 5 seconds before they start the pitstop)

8. Make sure you have slowed down to 60KPH before the cones and engage the pitspeed limiter.

9. If you want to change your pitstop settings during the race you wil need to map the 'Pit stops' section buttons. when setting the fuel and tyre options (before or during the race) make sure the box is highlighted green or it wont carry out the command during the race!

10. The following link has some useful info on the subject:
https://www.racedepartment.com/threads/pit-stop-tutorial-june-2017.137144/

11. I would avise everyone to practice a few stops off line, but remember you must have the session set to 'GET REAL' otherwise it automates some of the pit functions.

Its race weekend! note that there has been a big update to RRE a few days ago, so you may have to reset a few things in the game, I will be doing a couple practice pitstops incase they have changed anything.

Race day!

The practice server is up and running

@picnic, if you get a spare moment could you look over the server settings, the new fangled layout seems to have some extra options in the bottom right corner.

Matt fixed these for me mid week. Unless you've changed them they should be right.

I checked them for this event, but the only one I have any question about is the gear options. You can force
manual with manual clutch, which is not appropriate, at least i think it's not, then manual gears
with auto clutch, which I for one still do, or allow free choice. I have left it at free choice
but that means that people will have to check their own in game settings to make sure it doesn't
default to auto gears on line, which mine did. I have set it to force off stability control, and anything
else that looked dodgy. I left the ABS and Traction control as "Factory" as some of the cars do allow TC
so that wil be the same as before. (I assume)

I tried the GT4's yesterday locally, and my first impression was that they were a bit
too easy, then I realised my local game setting had gone to stabiltiy control, or whatever they
call it, when I turned that off, and gave them a bit more front grip they became a lot more "interesting"

Still a bit underwhelmed with them, they handle like the nissan skyline in Touring Classics, they don't feel
connected to the road, a bit like most of the standard cars in AC, the physics is vague.
Still, as Stephen has no plans to run them anytime soon, and people want them I will run a series
starting in March. Please could people test them and give your thoughts.

Enjoyed that, but again screwed up my stop  Angry

Was having a good fight with Riccardo, following close for many laps, and then after the stops I was 20 secs behind. I dunno, in practice all goes like clockwork but in the race the crew just won't seem to do what I want..! Just wanted a change of front tyres here, but I think I got new tyres all round, and possibly took fuel on as well. I'll try and work it out for the next one, but a shame to lose touch with the cars ahead.

Congrats podium.

Still a bit underwhelmed with them..

Just a thought Matt, but did you play with the traction control settings? All cars with TC start with the lowest numerical value (as before), but this now corresponds to the highest level of TC intervention. Not sure why they've changed it round, but out of the box all cars will now have max TC which is very dull..

I only have the Cayman at the moment as I got a big discount on that one having already got the Cayman Trophy car. Unusually for RRE I don't like the sounds (although apparently quite accurate), and it feels slow, although I don't mind that - slow cars give good racing! (eg NSU). And it's quite lively with the TC turned off..

Enjoyed the McLaren around here but still made too many mistakes, fortunately none of them too serious. Had some good early laps trying to hold Eck at bay then after he peeled off to the pits I briefly had Gavino in my mirrors until I missed my braking point for T2 & let him through. He was much faster anyway so would have soon found a way past without my help. Couldn't help noticing he was carrying more corner speed than me by using much more kerb on corner entry whereas I was tending to keep all 4 wheels on the track, tip for the future! Anyway remainder of the race was quite lonely as unusually for this series there were quite big gaps between cars.

Congrats to Gavino on a dominant win & to Riccardo in 3rd.  clap clap

Only tried the Evora so far (for obvious reasons  Roll Eyes) but have to agree on the sounds Frex, it sounds nothing like my car, no where near as crisp, more a dull drone.  Sad

Yes I changed the TC setttings to lowest number is lowest TC amount. as per usual.
I don't know why some odd chap has decided to make them a daft order, maybe
a mistake.

The results are a bit late, I am stuck in a limited wifi hotel, this one is realllly limited...
