not sure what happened in that race (several disqualifications?). I will have a close look at the server settings during the week to try to work out what happened. Could the people who got disqualified please let me know what they were for?

Think I have found the answer, in GT3 races (not sure about other classes) with mandatory pitstop, you must change at least 2 tyres. That is why Riccardo & I got penalised, we just refuelled.  Roll Eyes

Speeding in the pit lane? Its not an automatic limiter i believe.

Is that how Raceroom has been set up Geoffers?

Apparently, I found this topic at RRE forum:
https://forum.sector3studios.com/index.php?posts/120891/
You have to change at least 2 tyres at mandatory pit stops. Riccardo & I both got 90s penalty for not changing tyres.

Anyhow was a good race, battled with Matt & Eck for the first few laps, got past Eck more by luck than judgement, was actually trying to avoid rear-ending him  Shocked. Eck pitted shortly afterwards but before pit window opened leaving me harrying Matt, got ahead when he made a mistake only to lose it the next lap when I ran wide at the hairpin. Pitted shortly after but overshot my pit & lost time deciding what to do, so tried reversing & approaching again & that worked, just added fuel. Rejoined & was about 5s behind Riccardo & in 2nd place after everyone had pitted, I think the McLaren was quicker than Riccardo's Porsche because I caught him at about 1s a lap & easily passed on the back straight & pulled away for what I thought was my first RRE win, wrong! Roll Eyes

Congrats to Spanner & Matt.  clap clap

Mandatory pitstops is a setting on the server. It does not have to be on.
It's Stephens choice whether to just make it a rule, or to force it in game
Personally I hate pitstops, and our lack of understanding spoiled the race
for some.

Yeah, I messed up the stop and got DQ'd, though it was my fault for not giving myself any time to get the procedure down properly. I did a quick practice race just before I joined the server, and in that the AI took over control of my car and turned on the limiter automatically, so I figured as long as I came in slow enough I didn't have to map a button for the limiter. That was wrong, as in the race I had full control at all times and got done for exceeding the pitlane speed limit. I guess that's why I got DQ'd as I left the pits, although I would have thought I would have just got a penalty rather than an immediate DQ? Maybe not. I also couldn't work out how to take on fuel, despite confirming it as an option, as my car would only change tyres.. Obviously I'm doing something wrong, so will spend more time on it if we have pitstops in again. Was a fun race up to the stops however..

Congrats Mark, Matt and Geoff.

Like FREX I tried a practice race offline before the race to check out the pit procedure and experienced the same as him with the AI taking over, so thought the pitstops would be trouble free. One point to note about pitstops:

when you select your tyre choice or fuel amount, you must also make sure the box turns green other wise it will not carry out the command. (caught me out a few times in the past where I set the fuel to 30L but forgot to turn the box green)

Returning to pitstops in the Sunday night GT3 series. People got disqualified last night for exceeding the pitlane speed limit, I am not sure whether this always happens or whether it was because I selected the mandatory pit stop option on the server. I will investigate later this week. If it is not possible to remove this rule then I will stop using the pitstops, in my opinion you should just get a drive through as in real life.

I will post more on the subject later in the week

Yes, I'm aware of ensuring the options are green, setting custom strategies and putting them into the correct order etc etc. However, one thing that has just occurred to me - do you have to switch off the engine when you refuel?
