Good race, I managed 3rd more by luck than skill, and Apologies for the messy start, I was so busy trying to keep off the barrier, and not hit anyone, that I braked late, fortunately not much contact, if any, and I just went wide and a couple sneaked through.

Geoffers, considering your pace in previous and the actual seasons I think it best you'd leave the car in its sorry state for now, untill we have caught up with you on the points table. Please contact my laywer for any future claims. Cheers, Dan

Loved the track, but the Healey is my Nemesis in GTL; never had a race with it go well, and yesterday followed the tradition. Dreadful start and first few corners, losing several places. Still flabbergasted by Dan's starts. Even if I could employ his 'countdown method' without getting a S/G, it still wouldn't make my car start to move any quicker. Don't think I've ever seen anyone get off the line so fast in GTL - it's like his car is kicked off the line by a giant, invisible boot.. (Who do I have to p... off in the divine circles to achieve the same ? ) Big problems yesterday whenever another, noisy car was near. Completely drowned out my own engine, so repeatedly missed my upshifts, staying in the same gear and being easily outdragged by others. Diced with Tony the first lap, swapping places. Beginning of L2, he used Aston power to pull ahead on my left, then turned sharply in front of my car, slamming on the brakes simultaneously. Not a chance in H... for me of avoiding hitting him. Fortunately none of us spun, but not too impressed with the maneuver. Got past later and chased after Matt & Fulvio dicing ahead. Little later, an out of place Clive showed up, and with some entanglement up ahead involving Dan I believe, I got past the two. Clive soon past again in his faster car, but stayed ahead of Dan, and had got past Fulvio too when he had a moment. He slowly reeled me in, but didn't quite get there before my pit at L17. Made up places in the 2nd stint, to eventually reach 3rd; mainly by misfortune of others. Big bummer then to run out of fuel on the final lap. Had miscalculated the necessary amount in my stop. Don't think that's ever happened before, but there's a first for everything, and in a Healey, something HAS to go wrong.. Grats to the podium and commiserations to any other unfortunate souls.

As explained earlier I started out very tentatively to make sure my car would indeed be where I saw it to be. Using Eifelblitz as a bit of a guinea pig it quickly appeared to be indeed solved. Cheers, ISP. Having evaded an intimate moment between Tony and Bob and taken advantage of a mistake by Eifel I got into empty territory and had a lot of, if not fast then at least consistent, laps. I got past Dan but only because he seemed to be struggling hard with an uncharacteristically unstable car. All went well until the pitstop. There I decided not to take new tyres in order to lose as little time as possible in the pits. Big mistake. The poor Fezza deteriorated quickly and became next to undriveable in the last laps. I don't know if GTL models that but it sure felt as if the rear right was on the rim. Bob and Tony were catching up real quickly. I think I lost 5 seconds a lap in the last stages. But as they were closing in for the kill, I realized that I was lapped and had one lap less to go and with huge relief got across the line with a handful of yards left.
Congratulations to the winners and survivors. And sympathy for the unlucky ones.

Sorry if this caused you to have an incident Erling. I was taking my typical line and braking point for the tricky hairpin but obviously failed to appreciate your closing velocity. Please accept my apologies.

Spent most of last night being tailed by Bob or trying to catch Dominic. Had two moments with Bob. One when he tapped my rear on the fast uphill section which unfortunately span me around and gave two following drivers a bit of a moment. I was mystified by this accident as I wasn't braking so couldn't figure why Bob had touched me. It was only when I watched the replay when I saw that Bob had been attempting a cheeky pass on my LHS, between my car and the barrier, when I had closed the door on him, causing his car to tap my nearside left. No harm done but we both lost time to the rest of the field. Much later in the race I was racing Dom (I think?) lapping SeniorDan up to the first turn with Bob in the distance. I think we were lapping him? so he slowed to let us pass but as I braked hard to take the hairpin I lost steering (I had my front brakes turned right up) and collided with an almost stationary and innocent Bob. Sorry for the hit which was all my bad. Catching Dom was fun and if we had had a few more laps I think Bob and I would have had him cold. Great track, lovely cars and loads of incidents. No better way to spend a Wednesday night IMO. Oh heck, it's Charade next. Hope the tyre wear is better than in Spain.

One of the better races I have had as far as close competition. As Tony said I tucked in behind him for about the first half of the race. The Healey was handling better than his Aston but didn't have the speed to pass him. Got door to door several times but thats all I could manage. Sorry about the try for the inside pass on the big uphill sweeper but just had to try it. I think about that time our tires were marginal, and I was gaining on you, just had to try it and hope you would slip wide. Then about l16 or 17 you pitted and I decided to run a few more laps to l20, but tires forced me to pit about 18 or 19. I had just came out of the pits when our second incident happened. Was braking early for the turn on cold tires and didn't even see you in my mirror. We recovered OK so no harm there. Just racing....Sorry to the two or three guys that had problems on the last couple of laps. I have always enjoyed that track, we ran it almost every year in the GTC series over at GC. Kind of like a street race but with a nice wide track and great corners. See you all in the desert at Stardust.

Please accept my apologies. No worries Tony, we were lucky. I'm very careful if I'm following someone closely, so I don't get caught out by his braking, but didn't anticipate your move.

Edit: just looked at the table and I appear to be shown as a lap down?? Don't recall being lapped Tony, but I have not looked at the replay yet.
You were lapped by Ziu when you took your 2nd pit stop (replay time 3529).

I agree Tony, just looked at replay and watched in dismay at Ziu sailing through I still think that my first pitstop was something special lol, although it did leave a slight blemish on the door

I will change the results to reflect this. EDIT: I will watch the replay again just to double check this.

Eifel's result sheets also show Clive in 4th and I do remember seeing him in front of me -for a short while- late in the race. So it seems Clive did it again; giving people false hope through game glitches In other news, I looked whether that affected the championship standings and lo and behold, I'm in 3rd . Can we call the Championship like right now? Pretty please
