Car choice restrictions: Championship Positions (CP) 1 to 3 - Procar, CP 4 to 7 - Procar or Gr.4., CP 8 and above, and new drivers - ANY. Time of Day Setting: 14:00 Start: STANDING Tyre wear: Normal Fuel consumption: Normal Pit stops: Not required Server: simracing.org.uk Wednesday Password: see aboveNotes: (1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage. (2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules. (3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read Autopit="0" Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable. Special Notes: Note early race start time.

My second race in the Procar and actually enjoyed this race at Zeltweg even after hitting Clive (sorry) and spending 2 minutes in pits repairing car. Used to hate driving the Procars but after several praccy sessions managed a reasonable setup to race with.
Grats to Geoffers on win
Grats to Podium

Bit of a roller coaster ride last night, which regrettably ended in a low. First the disappointment of finding the server down, and all who could do something about it out of town, meaning all the time spent on practice was wasted. Then the elation of Tony coming to the rescue in the nick of time - thanks!! Next a promising looking race thrown away with a single, unnecessary mistake.
Had tried hard to hone my setup, managing to shave 0.5 sec off my pb from 2016, with a 49.1 being my best. Could not approach Ziu's otherworldly 1:48 time, no matter how hard I tried. Didn't get near my pb in our short qual, but wasn't necessary for pole. Starting means treading a very fine line between too much wheelspin or bogging down. Had practiced it extensively, but still managed to screw it up. Too much wheelspin in 1st, and bogged down in 2nd, meaning Geoffers snatched the lead.
Could lap quicker in those early laps, but getting past was easier said than done. At one point we ran side by side through several corners, but eventually I had to relent, as I was off the racing line. Got past next lap when Geoffers put a couple of wheels on the grass. Fast forward a few laps and I had a small gap, with everything looking rosy. Then disaster hit at the end of the back straight, while braking into the lefthand kink leading to a righthand corner. Had done two full race length sessions offline and never lost it there. Had been sliding the car under braking numerous times without problems, but come the bl**dy race, the back end suddenly bites me hard. Got a violent tank slapper, sending me nose first into the barrier and spinning the car. Had to let Geoffers pass before I could swing the car round and start the pursuit.
Thus went from being 3-4 secs ahead, to being 5.5 secs behind. Try as I might, I couldn't close the gap fast enough - anything but a near perfect lap, and it didn't go down at all. Had to hope for a mistake from Geoff, but being too far back to put pressure on him, it seemed unlikely. Late in the race, the gap was down to 3 secs, and I most likely wouldn't have caught him. Final nail in the coffin came from Bob however, as he lost control just as I was lapping him, clobbering my car into the barrier once more. Besides the time lost outright, the accumulated damage now crippled the car. It was hopeless in corners and through the chicane, and instead of closing on Geoffers in the final laps, I dropped back.
Disappointing finish then, taking with it any (hypothetical) hopes regarding the Championship. Grats to Geoffers on the win, making the most of a chance when it presented itself, and to Clive I believe, for 3rd.
