Moderator's Report

There was no server replay for this race so I have used different client replays when reviewing the incidents. All the times listed for incidents are approximate.


Server replay time: 65s

As the formation lap gets under way silver53 takes up a position ahead of Don1, who had qualified ahead of him.

Even if you can't see the car alongside when stationary on the grid, you can always tell whether it's ahead or behind you by looking at the row in front. If the other car is ahead, the only reason you should pull away first is if they haven't moved at all for several seconds.


Server replay time: 242s

As the pack rounds T1 for the first time Aagramn locks up under braking and drifts wide, and Jan Duijs goes for the low inside line. As they pass the apex Aagramn tightens in again, not realising Jan has come up the inside, and there is contact with Jan getting pushed into the kerbing.
Once he found himself out wide Aagramn really should have held the outside line considering the first lap first corner likelyhood of a car being on the inside.

Server replay time: 480s

As Don1 turns in for the final chicane he locks up his inside front wheel under braking. Evert Blommert is close behind and tries to take advantage by moving to get alongside.

Don1 manages to hold the line however and, as he moves left (the normal line) to get a good run onto the main straight, there is contact resulting in Don1 crashing heavily.

At no point was Evert alongside, and Don drove the usual line so I have to penalise Evert for putting his car in a dangerous position.

In mitigation, Don does well to keep such a tight line and this clearly catches Evert out. Evert then basically ran out of road due to the wide racing line that leads onto the straight.


Server replay time: 582s

Aagramn is following Spacefox up to turn 10. Spacefox brakes relatively early and Aagramn has to brake hard, which unsettles the car on the brow of the hill. Aagramn catches the slide but loses momentum and Jan Duijs, who has already committed to the corner and is already braking hard himself, cannot avoid hitting Aagramn.

[RSms]Andy has been following Ruskus for several laps and as they approach the final chicane Andy tries a late lunge up the inside, resulting in contact and Ruskus being shunted off the track.

Andy came from quite far back and was never close enough to get alongside.

NGT Sprint Cup - Season 3, Round 3 at Brno

Date: Tuesday 23rd May

Practice 1: 8:30pm (10 mins)
Practice 2: 8:40pm (5 mins)
Qual 2: 8:45pm (28 mins)
Warmup: 9:13pm (2 mins)
Race: 9:15pm (40 mins)

Cars allowed: Ferrari 360, Porsche 911 GT3-RS, Porsche 911 Bi-Turbo, Mosler, Vertigo or Morgan. (Lotus Elise, BMW Z3M, Porsche GT3 Cup are allowed but will not score points.)
Weather: Dry

Server: UKGTR NGT Sprint S3
Password: Server Password is shown in the Password Board and is available to the relevant registered drivers.

Notes:
(1) Full-time drivers should aim to arrive during Practice 1.
(2) Reserve drivers should not connect to the server until Practice 2.
(3) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(4) See UKGTR Sprint Season 3 Info for general Season 3 info.
(5) Please make sure you are fully aware of the UKGTR Rules

First off all I need to apologise to Bernie Lomax Sad Sorry mate Sad Sad Sad He just comes back to ZiP and I give him a nice little welcome....Straight into the kitty litter. Kinda lost the heart to race after that. Just ended up blobbing around the track, came in for a drive through as my guilty conscience kept pestering me. Sorry again Bernie....
Went much as I expected apart from that(in the sand with a puncture) . I don't know if I've got what it takes to cut it at NGT I always seem to burn up the tyres and spin off. I guess I'll have to keep practicing Tongue

Did a PB in practice and ended 2nd, ofcourse behind Claus again Cheesy.

Race all went well, Claus was running away from me, and I had Andy! close behind me. At some point he took me out which cost me 2nd place and I ended up 9th.
At that point I had to push to the limit to get a respectable position. After a while I was in 6th close behind Truetom in the last lap. I was looking for a gap and I was planning for one last try in the last two corners by getting a good exit speed. But then, on the uphill section before the two last corners......BOOM. Fire, smoke everywhere. I could smell fresh baked saucages and meatballs Shocked. So I stranded just a few hundred meters from the finish, with nothing more than a barbeque.
And I though Sharks didn't catch fire Tongue.
I know I had to preserve the engine a bit, but after the incident I just went for it, and kept pushing and thinking: when it's gotta go, it's gotta go. And a shame it actually went Sad.
