Taken from Fabris review as a guideline to the different cars:- By laptimes, Eagle first, and Lotus, are really faster. Brabham, Mclaren, Ferrari and Cooper seems quite even, with the Brabham leading a bit, but she is also more nervous to drive. BRM shoud be the slower. Honda unclassified, I can not see the RPMs; Matteo did some laps with similar times of BRM, but maybe he didn't focus too much with that car. My favorite car is without any doubt the Cooper, a toy to drift here and there on the track. So you faster guys should not take the better cars

Mark, remember also the huge tires wear in BRM, when in other cars it is practically nil.
I will take, if possible, the Rindt's Cooper.

Practice server is up, there are 3 of each car there. Mark do you want to drop any of the cars?

not at this stage, i'm sure most will want to try all of them before the event. If a car proves generally un-used then we can drop that nearer race night. Odd they didnt get the in-game L49 and F312 to work along with the pack rather than re-modding both.

Odd they didnt get the in-game L49 and F312 to work along with the pack rather than re-modding both. This was done intentionally. The mod team state they are trying to replicate the feel of the cars in GPL. The AC cars most certainly do not drive like their GPL counterparts. I'll put a link somewhere in the UKGPL forums, I know some of them have AC and this might get some of the others off the fence. You might consider dropping the matra and Lotus 33, as both should be massively outclassed anywhere that isn't a tight city track or the 'ring. I'll still try and put laps in with each just for giggles, SHE has made it very clear that I must take the great white whale to victory in South Africa though.

I just did some laps, the track in this version seems a lot better in graphics and there are no troubles with strange barrier walls, like before had.

Will try to make some laps with the entire field before the end of the week. I will spend a couple of hours with pleasure tonight on the server. @ 9.10 PM (UK time) circa I'll be on the server. See you

What would really help to get people upto speed and encourage more to join in, is if you veteran historic single seater racers put some good baseline setups together for all to use
