Although I like Cadwell, it's one of those tracks that I usually don't go well at.

Had done some practice with the same setup I used at Misano & it seemed pretty good here. Got pole for race 1 & held the lead at the start, but it didn't last as I took Charlies a bit too fast & understeered into the weeds around lap 4. Matt & Erling went through before I could regain the asphalt & set off in pursuit. Took 3-4 laps to catch up but finding a way past was not going to be easy especially as the car was not now handling as I would have liked. It had a tendency to lock the front brakes making turn in difficult & when it did turn it was quite keen to swap ends. Eventually the brakes caught me out into Hall Bends & I sailed off into the scenery which dropped me behind Tony, caught up with him after a few laps & he made it easy to pass by running wide at Park. Matt & Erling were well ahead so no chance of catching them so settled for 3rd, still had time for a quick spin though at the Mountain 2 laps from the end Roll Eyes.

Made some setup changes before qually for race 2, lowering the brake pressure to try to stop the lock ups & softening the rear & adding a little toe-in to stop the rear getting loose. Seemed to work as I took nearly half a second off my PB in qually. Worked even better in the race as I was able to do regular 1.29s nearly all race whereas in race 1 I was struggling to get under 1.30.  Grin

Congrats to Erling & Matt in race 1 & to Erling & Rog in race 2.  clap clap clap

Always liked Cadwell, and the KAD Mini was quite fun here.  Biggest challenge was to restrain yourself - so easy to overdo it and get things wrong in a critical place.

Races were very different.  Happy about my 2nd place on the grid next to the extraterrestrial in race 1, but made one of my customary bads starts, losing places to both Matt & Clive.  The latter fell off on L1 and I found myself chasing Matt.  After a few laps, surprisingly Geoffers went off, letting us both past, so now we were fighting for the lead. As it was early in the race, there was no way I expected to stay ahead of Geoffers, but focused on Matt.  By the time I caught up to him, Geoffers had also caught up, and we were having a 3-way fight over several laps.  Then suddenly Geoffers were gone!    Continued the intense battle with Matt, but couldn't find a way past.  Put as much pressure on him as I could, but he held up very well!  Only with a couple of laps left did the tiniest of opportunities present itself, when he zig zagged a little up the hill after the chicane.  Had to seize it and nosed ahead going into the S-curves. Managed to hang on to the lead for the final bit, but phew, what a race!
Grats to Matt & Geoffers.

All the way at the rear of race 2, but made up places faster than I could have hoped for - Roger slow off the line, Clive falling off (again  Grin), Kurt running a bit wide.  Soon I was looking at the now all too familiar rear end of Matt's Mini. Almost didn't have the energy for another race like the first, but turned out not to be necessary, when he went slightly off,  making a pass much easier.  Got past Tony on the next lap, which left only Geoffers up ahead, but he was long gone.  Most of the race then was completely lonely, in stark contrast to the first.
Grats to Geoffers on the win, and to Roger for 3rd.
