Fuel consumption: 2x
Pit stops required: Yes

Server: simracing.org.uk Wednesday
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: None

Just did my first testing, including pit stops.  No matter how many times I tried, I could not get the pit selection board to show when stopping in the right lane, as indicated by the mechanic.  Only by stopping in the left lane, and running into/over the mechanic, would the board show.  Can anyone else confirm this is so ?

See post below; found solution

Otherwise a very nice track!  Smiley

I've done several pit stops and never had a problem  Huh Just approached to the right of the pit guy really slowly and it's worked every time.

Just did some more testing.  Can get the pit board to show from the right lane, but have to be very far left to do so - wheels across the yellow stripes, and much closer to the mechanic than normal.

This does not bode well for certain drivers who have had minor issues with pitstops in the past....... Roll Eyes

Test it Clive is the best suggestion I can make - if Tony hasn't noticed anything, chances are you may not either.  Tried the other cars, and get the impression the effect is most pronounced in the Healey.

I really haven't, even in the Healey. Just a crawl up to the the RHS of the pit man works for me every time.

I, like Erling, find that the safest way is to have my left wheels to the left of the dotted yellow line, too far to the right & the board does not show.

Can I also suggest that everyone has 'pit in' or something similar mapped to quick chat to warn anyone close behind that they intend to enter the pits. The pit entrance is right on the very quick racing line & someone slowing suddenly to enter the pits could easily cause mayhem.

IMPORTANT

As Geoffers suggest's, could everyone please use their "Pit In" message for this event, preferably well before the pit entry. Providing you haven't changed it, the message should be assigned to Quick Chat #1.

For the actual message text go to Options then Multiplayer. "Pit In" or "Slowing to Pit" is assigned #1. You may change messages to say whatever you want.

To bind this message to a key/button go to Options then Controls then Extra.

Please check your file paths before this event.

Your cars should be located at GTL/GameData/Teams/GTC-65. Check that you do not have something else like GTL/GTL/GameData/Teams/GTC-65.

Huh?? "quick chat"Huh? wozzat??
I have wondered how on earth people are typing messages during races, as I find that even hitting the right keys to say "Hi" during practice usually ends up with my car in the undergrowth  Undecided .

I recall seeing something in the various GTL menus which appears to suggest that one can pre-record messages?, but a short dabble failed in getting that to function, so to avoid any more screw ups with my install I left things alone....( no surprise there!). I guess that is what you are calling "quick chat"?.

I might have to have another go at that if I can get some practice time before the race on Wednesday, especially if there is an issue with pitstops as well?

Edit...I see that Tony has anticipated my incompetence....... Undecided
