Well that was almost a good race  taz Black screen for a few seconds, then track re appeared with Geoff somersaulting down the road
then setting off the wrong direction, he didn' seem to be turning round so I left in disgust
Sorry Geoff, not much I could do  censored

No worries Matt, just one of those things, your car suddenly froze & I hit it, so sudden there was no way to avoid it. Yeh ended up facing the wrong way & had to wait while everyone went past to turn around safely. Eventually got up to 2nd, well behind Clive, before crashing at that first fast right kink along the back section, was funny as both front wheels shot off down the road. Cheesy

Congrats to the podium & all finishers.  clap clap clap

Grats to whoever survived the race and took the flag.
Some very strange stuff in that race  for me wacko wacko

First of all my keyboard ignored my instruction to post "messages", so I dipped out just before quali to sort that. When I returned I had no gear shift?!! every control wanted to be button B6, so sorted that ( dodgy/sticky microswitch on steering wheel paddles).

Qually was weird as I did not seem able to stop the car??? ( discovered in the first few laps of the race that I had zero brakes  Shocked )  Well I suppose it makes you faster??  Roll Eyes
I was trailing Matt and Geoff by about 10 secs after a few early incidents dropped Dan and others back behind me. Dominick was showing as 14 secs behind and the Screen went to desktop, but sound kept running as I was on a straight section. Frantic clicking of mouse and keyboard and the track re appeared, but after 3-4 secs of desktop Dominick was now just 4 secs behind???!!
Up the hill and I came across Geoff facing the wrong way in just the wrong place  scared swerved past him and hit a straw bale that some careless farmer had left in the middle of the track...triple  somersault and twist later I was doing a Geoff. No-one coming so swung the Merc around and set off again. Matt was by now about 20+ secs ahead, and I was somehow in 2nd??

Then Dominick vanished from behind to be replaced by Rog, I was able to slowly ease away from Rog...then he went into pits and Matt left the race... I was sitting in 1st place. That was not in the script that I read.

At the two major braking zones I was using all the gears to slow the car and basically hitting the bales 99% of the time just to get around the 2 hairpins, quite how the car was still driveable I have no idea. My race plan was to go to lap 16 and do a splash and dash for the last 7 laps and all was looking good. Geoffers and Rog had pitted and I had 77secs lead over Bob when I swung into the pit lane.

Rolled up to Arnold and up popped the pitboard.................but my keyboard refused to work and I could not enter or adjust anything  Undecided  I might have to invest in a new wheel and wash the keyboard in a bucket of strong detergent!!!

Erm, there was one (1) finisher. Bob was the last companion to depart with seven or eight laps to go.
I'd be perfectly fine with it if this race were to be annulled. It was just silly all over the field and the 'winner' could barely drive his car, lol. Easily the worst handling car I've ever driven in GTL.

Well that was another weird race, seems I have had several this year so far.  Drove  the Fer SWB which I have never been able to get it to handle for me.  Was going to take the AH3K but had used it before and just decided to get the Fer over and done with.  To go along with that, my trusty old G25 came loose from the desk about 5 laps in so drove to the pit stop and tightend up the clamp and heard a crack, thread stripped, dammmm.....Continued on until it was just Dom and myself and after awhile said to myself, I'm out of here.  Have a spare so it's repair time. Grats to Dom for out lasting everybody, don't feel bad about your solo finish, you earned it!!!!!

I think the result maybe wrong, Clive was still in the race ahead of me when I crashed out, I think.

Edit: Yep, just checked the replay, Clive was just entering the pits when I crashed, so around half a lap ahead. It maybe that he left the server before I did so that may explain why I was classified ahead of him.

Congrats Dom, that's two weeks running you have won.

Pssst Geoffers, thanks for not mentioning my clumsy pit entry  Roll Eyes. Although, in my defence I had worn tyres and no brakes, so I had to slow the car down somehow  Wink

What a race and ... Dominick again!  Grin

Was on a good way and one lap en route to a sub 1:26 lap when I lost the car
Due to a severe headache I was unable to concentrate any longer and consequently crashed out during one of the next laps  Sad

Well, if everyone's fine with it, OK then. This is most definitely the first time I won a race by eight.....laps  Grin
It seems that the Curse which was spooking me some time ago has left me and spread throughout the field Undecided. No PC troubles lately*, no wheel troubles*, no screen troubles*, no health troubles (lost  >10kg WHILE quitting the smokes)*, etc.

*knock wood times 1457

BTW, Geoff, it's a shame of course that you were knocked out too, but indeed, the most hilarious crash I've ever seen with those wheels being launched like rockets.

" To finish first, first you have to finish"  Grat Dom on a DOMinant victory by 8 laps  Wink

Just watched the replay and it appears that the track and scenery took their toll on many competitors. I was amazed that my Merc was still running given the dents and damage that it had sustained, and yet I cannot say that I noticed any great change in the handling Huh Maybe my driving was so bad that bad handling was the least of the problems lol

Same here Clive, after slamming into the back of Matt's frozen car there was no difference in my Ferrari's handling, it did however make the car slower as it would not pull max revs in top on the long run to the second hairpin which it did easily before.
