Championship Standings here

Grid/server capacity: 22

RACE ONE (1960's)

Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:20 (10 mins)
Race: 20:30 (16 laps)

Track: Heartland Park, St. Topeka (GP)  Download this

Cars allowed: 1960's
Chevrolet Chevelle, Chevrolet Impala, Ford Falcon Sprint, Pontiac GTO

Car restrictions: Three drives maximum per make. Check your car allowance here

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal
Pit stops: Not required

Server: simracing.org.uk Wednesday
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: Note early race start.

Tony, I see you are aiming to have these races last about 30 mins, so using the GP layout of this track I reckon on the races being 16 laps, not 20. Or am I using the wrong layout?

Hmm, the GP layout is the longest configuration so I will reduce the lap no's to 16. Thanks for the heads up Geoffers.

Just spent a most enjoyable afternoon testing out all of the cars on this demanding circuit. Bonus points for anyone who has a tyre left in usable condition after this race. It is a great circuit but it does take some learning, particularly which turns you can take with some power on  Cool, and which you can't  Shocked

Err, no they are not the same, Heartland is fairly flat whereas Toban is very hilly. Have you tried them both?

Yes I have Geoff, which is why I was confused, and suspected that  ( once again  Undecided ) I have a glitch.

I think I will delete both tracks from my GTL install, and then re-install the tracks from the download links in the race posts.

Toban appears to have 4 variants on my circuit list and Heartland just the one configuration. The track I have driven ( which is the same under both titles ) starts with an uphill section over a blind crest and then a fast Right / Left through rows of cones.

Heartland Park has four configurations, as does Toban.

That sounds like Heartland, Toban does indeed have 4 layouts but if I remember correctly (long time since I have driven it) 2 of those are the reverse of the other two.

Heartland is a real track whereas Toban is a fantasy one.

Heartland Park has four configurations, as does Toban.

But we are using the long GP version of Heartland? which is the single option that I selected for download from the race post so that should be OK.

Not entirely sure where or why I have acquired the Toban listing, especially as the GP version of that track ( on my PC ) is in fact Heartland.  As I said, I will delete the Toban references later and re-download from the race post.

Yes, the GP version of Heartland. Didn't your download already contain the tracks?

 Oh yes!!

Forgot that the whole car/track package was a single download for this series. Well, I just d/loaded and let it install itself? maybe I will have to do a fresh install  Undecided

I think I still have the download zip in my "downloads" folder, will check later.

EDIT.
All somewhat academic now  Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Sad Sad Sad  Tried to re- install the "Game Data" file  for the Heavy Iron series onto a clean GTL  and the PC folded and crashed. Tried to use restore point...nothing doing ! PC unable to start. Eventually tried to restart windows 10 from the original CD. Result was a total wipe and re-install of Win 10 and a bare PC  Undecided.
So I now have to re-install GTL...GPL and everything else, not particularly happy at the moment  Undecided

Oh Dear!

I always take a system image and make a recovery disk for just such an eventuality. I would hate to lose my GTL library of tracks and cars etc.

Fortunately I had copied my general GTL install onto a memory stick and I have that reloaded. But I cannot seem to log in to the lobby? Password etc all functions but I seem to recall that the address was changed recently?? Or maybe I am mistaken?
