That was a bit flat; big lead with 2 laps to go, when I got DQ'ed for ignoring S/G I never realized I got, same as Geoffers  Sad

Comedy of errors starting at the pistop where I overshot my spot and had to reverse to find it. Must've left in too much of a hurry because I got a S&G. Got another one while serving the S&G.... And to top it I saw Coyote getting a DQ and thought the best thing I could do was to stare at his car in the last corner. You guessed it: plonk, dead.
Grats to Roger & Bob!

By the way, who is Lawrence Clemo? Couldn't find anything online.

Results and replay now posted.

Sorry to the guy's who had unfathomable DQ's  Huh We have used this track before and never had such problems, so I'm puzzled.

By the way, who is Lawrence Clemo? Couldn't find anything online.
Lawrence Clemo was a sim-racing enthusiast who enjoyed mixing it up at the tail end of the pack. He was a popular guy who would do caricatures of drivers if they sent him a photo.
He succumbed to his cancer in May 2010, so since then we run a race every year in his memory.

Got track downloaded this time, but all the cars are new to me, not to mention the extra time I need learning RWD machinery, so I will skip this one.
However there's hope that I will show up on some Wednesday. Smiley

Have a good one guys. Smiley

The Maserati default settings do not have a working pit limiter as some discovered last night. There is a fix (which I forgot about).

In the file's Maserati450S_45.hdc and Maserati450S_57.hdc find the section headed [Engine] and change the line Speedlimiter=0 to Speedlimiter=1.

Good to see a decent grid for Laurie's memory, he was a truly nice guy in the simracing world.

Sorry to have left the action so early  Undecided maybe if I had hung around a little longer I might have sampled some champagne??? But given how intransigent the Maserati was about turning left ( turning right seemed to come naturally to my car!!! Huh ) that was never going to happen. lol

Grats to those who did survive this speedbowl and saw the flag.

FWIW I had rarely driven the 4.5 Masser before ( opting for the big brother whenever I had the option ) and expected it to be a little more benign around this track.  But to be honest, the 5.7 litre version seems like a pussy cat compared to what I was wrestling with last night  Undecided........or maybe it's me Wink

Oh dear, I had assumed it was some British real world racing driver from days bygone. I read some posts and it seemed like a real nice chap. Kudos for maintaining the memory for almost a decade now.

It's not just you. Could. Not. Get. That. Biaaatch. To. Turn. In. The 5.7 is -for lack of a better word- easier.

No, not just you (and Dom); I've always found its big brother easier to drive, ironically.  Haven't tried it here - it's probably no better at turning left, but its straight line speed might be enough to make up for it.

Result

Cool  (Result chart by Autosimanalyzer differs a bit to Tony's data due to it's handling of the DQs)

Every lucky streak finds an end sometime and also every streak of bad luck, Clive    Wink

What a weird end of this event  Shocked . Commiserations Erling and Geoffers but also to all who had to quit early.

Had a PB of 2:07.1 before joining the event and was totally surprised that a simple use of the tyre option changing to Dunlop_Vintage
would give me about 5 seconds.
So it was a very satisfying qualy, finishing in fourth place on the grid. After my usual bad start I was able to climb back to fourth.
But this track obviously requires a little bit more of attention as usual and just a short moment of inattentiveness lead to a completely
destroyed suspension and an early bath.

CU next week and thanks for organizing this event to all involved.

BTW - grats Roger and Bob for winning/finishing the race!
