Car restrictions: One drive maximum per make/per night. You decide which race you enter which make in.

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal
Pit stops: Not required

Server: simracing.org.uk Wednesday
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: Note early race start.

Simple track, but found all the cars tricky to drive here.

Race 1:
Kept 2nd after the start, but just as I had a tiny gap back to Clive, I screw up in the final corner, running wide into the gravel.  Clive & Dan past, and Patrick too, when he carried more speed down the start/finish.  Reclaimed that position next lap and chased after Dan. Couldn't hear myself think behind his infernal Mazda, let alone my engine or tyres.  He had a moment where I made my mistake, so I could repay the favor.  Getting in front of him didn't help with the noise...  Soon after Clive made a mistake and I got him too.  Damn near repeated my own mistake on the penultimate lap, making the final lap more exiting that it needed to be.  Grats to Geoffers on the win and Clive for 3rd.

Race 2:
No friend of the Mazda, so how on earth I landed pole with it is beyond me - only plausible explanation must be that the rest of you sucked bigtime in qual..  Grin
Dan squeezed into the lead through the first corners, and I ran wide in the hairpin on cold tyres, leaving the door open for Geoffers to breeze through.  He soon took the lead, and I followed Dan. He had a few wobbly moments, so looked like an opportunity might present itself, but then he played an unexpected trump. Suddenly his car started laying down a dense smokescreen. Couldn't see neither where I was going, nor my brake points, so had no choice but to stop racing him and drop back - far back. Even 5 secs behind him, I still had problems. Also meant I slipped back into Patrick's clutches, so I not only couldn't challenge for 2nd, but also risked losing 3rd.  Waited for Dan's engine to blow, but never happened, it just smoked for over half the race.   Grats to Geoffers on yet another win, and to Dan for 2nd, even if his methods were questionable..  Wink

Race 3:
Surprise pole. Thought Geoffers had refrained from setting a time, to make his race less boring, but he claimed to have tried and spun.   Kept the lead at the start, and then had Clive for relatively close company for most of the race.  5-sec gap towards the end, when he spun and Geoffers finally made his presence felt - biting huge chunks out of my lead, so relieved when the race ended.  Grats to Geoffers on 2nd and a most impressive recovery drive, and to Clive for completing the podium.

This one was not a frustrating evening, but rather a pleasant but tiring one!  Smiley

First of all whoever (Tony? alone or with some help?) chose the cars and the tracks for this series made a really great job!  thumbup2
I am still amazed to see how different these cars feel and however produce very similar lap times. And I think that the tracks fit these cars well (or is it the opposite ?)

Race1:
To my liking Roger was quite a bit too big in my mirror for many laps but I finally managed to create a decent gap (if not a comfortable one).
After that I managed to get close to a fighting trio that became a duo as Erling eased away from it. Thanks to Dan visiting the lawn the duo was then limited to The Evil One. I tried to attack him for the few remaining laps, but without success if not without fun. P4 as a result.

Race2:
The Toyota is the easiest one of the 3 cars for me, but this race was a bit dull.
I could not quite stay with the top three guys, but was able to stay around 2 sec away from Erling for most of the race. I had a bit more cushion on my backside without it being really comfortable...
Not as badly as Erling, but I also "benefited" from Dan's engine resilience  Grin ... P4 as a result.

Race3:
It's Mazda time, and I don't really like this car so I was surprised to be on P4 on the grid (Oh, yes Geoffers did not quali, that helps  Wink )
Roger missed his start so I was P3 for a few laps, managing to avoid any big mistakes whilst Tony, Roger & Bob kept themselves busy (and slowed down a bit).
But around lap 7 I realized that in P4 was now Geoffers  Shocked and all hopes of a podium finish now disappeared... I could resist for about one lap but then he passed me easily (he gained nearly one second on me in T1 alone!  surrender ).
On lap 12 I had the pleasure to see Evilclive coming out from a garden party  Grin and was able to pass him... but not for long  Embarrassed. We had a quick interesting  and I got P4 as a result.

So I went back home with three "chocolate medals", which is a pretty good result for me, and a big grin on my face!
Thanks all for a good racing evening.  punk

BTW the next track in this series is Pukekohe which I think is a great track, with a long back straight terminating in a devilishly tight hairpin.

Still struggling with the handling of all of these cars, especially some unexpected reactions with breaking before and accelerating behind curves - but
I could watch that I wasn't alone with this matter.

So Race 1 and 2 were for the most part lonely ones at the back of the pack.

In Race 3 I was hoping for some fun with Dan who was cruising not far behind me in the Bellet but I spun due to a missconnection and lost so much time
that there was no further action to be expected anymore. So I quit.

CU next week.

Did you try the setups shared by Geoffers a few races ago? They helped me a lot by making the cars (Isuzu & Toyota most notably) a lot more stable.
