...FWIW It seems that there is a pre-ordained order to things in the championship tables this season and that 1st-2nd, and 3rd were organised pre season....just take a look at the pattern across all of the series   Roll Eyes lol.  Just saying Undecided

You're right Clive - it's become as boringly predictable as Formula 1 these days  Undecided

And here's hoping you'll soon recover 100% !

I will endeavour to take the slowest car where possible next season to try & make it more interesting if you guys think it will help. One or two people dominating too much puts others off racing, it happened at NG, most of the slower guys stopped racing & it just left a handful of the faster guys left.

PS, I will be in either the Jag or Abarth at Donington next week.

……………..every day in every way I'm getting better and better!,  except for those days where I don't  Undecided

It is just typically my luck that a World Masters GPL race has been organised for the 22nd Dec. The organisers have invited the top 16 drivers in GPL to take part in a 47 lap race at the 1967 Monza circuit and somehow my name has crept onto the invitation list. As I have said in the past I enjoy simracing for the "fun" element and do not usually bother with things like pre race practice. But, this is a little more serious, and I should be practising my wheel nuts off to take on the fastest guys in the world, but just at this moment I get tired far too quickly. I have no doubt that these guys will be running at close to ( or faster than) WR pace for 47 laps (approx. 1hr:30mins !!)

I'm hoping over the next week my stamina improves and I can get my "race face" on and knuckle down to some meaningful practice in the fastest cars, because for years I have either, through handicap or choice, taken the less fancied cars, so I have no current setups or race experience with the quicker machinery...…… ain't life just wonderful lol!!!

Really is a conundrum - inevitable that people will not all be equally fast (or slow). Obviously everyone would love to beat you, but if you're only operating a 50% capacity, it becomes a hollow victory anyway.  What are the races like from your perspective? - while winning never gets old, I've often found myself thinking that many of your races must be quite boring, with no one even close to posing a challenge.

As you say Erling winning never gets old & a lonely race out front is much better than a lonely race at the back of the field, however some of the more exciting races this year have been the Mini ones where I have had to start from the back & ones where I have made an early mistake & had to work my way back towards the front & of course the ones where I have not been in one of the faster cars. The way Tony sets up most of the series you can't drive the fastest car all the time anyway, but similarly I cannot always take one of the slower ones as you have to drive all the different cars. Most races this year I have chosen the car I think best suits the track from those available, maybe I should do the opposite & race the least suitable car. As you say it is a conundrum. We need more series like the French F3, where I can make the car fast but can't get the tyres to last so have really struggled just to get to the flag, but I have had fun.

I don't object to Geoffers and Erling usually dominating the podium steps, as far as I am concerned, it is up to me to improve and push them off  Roll Eyes if I want to get my hands on the silverware.
But, I have to say that I do enjoy the fun atmosphere within UKGTL regarding the racing right throughout the grid, and I hope that is never lost.

In my years of experience in GPL the "fast guys" are fast in whatever they are given to drive. Aliens will win in a wonky wheeled shopping trolley vs a Mercedes F1 car 90% of the time.
In UKGPL we have tried various handicapping options ( cars/penalty pitstops/SnG's etc) and the aliens still win lol, all we seem to do is reduce the margin!!

Lol, very true about the aliens Clive Smiley   Here's some amusing statistics from the KAD Mini series:  Out of 8 Race 1s, Geoffers has finished 2nd once, 3rd once and won the rest. That means he's been hit by the qualification ban in all but one race 2. In 8 race 2s, he's finished 2nd once and won the rest - he's doing better when banned from qualifying !!  Grin

I did make reference to that Tony   "  fun atmosphere within UKGTL regarding the racing right throughout the grid, and I hope that is never lost. "

Perhaps, in defence of Geoffers and Erling they cannot see all the action in their rear view mirrors because there is a car that is bouncing over kerbs, throwing up dust and grass and weaving demonically from side to side and blocking their view!!! …….just saying  Roll Eyes Undecided
